Just metres from Canterbury’s medieval West Gate, this charming building dates back to 1403. A former coaching inn, it offers free Wi-Fi and free parking, 2 minutes’ walk from the city centre.

Close to Canterbury city centre, Ann’s House is a beautiful Victorian house restored to its original grandeur. With en suite rooms it offers free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Close to Canterbury. Good pub opposite for beer and food. Friendly welcome and good breakfast
The welcome from the owners, the warmth and comfort of the twin bedroom, the superb breakfast! We will be back next year.
Very nice stay. Owners of b&b very attentive. Would go back. Near enough to the town for sight seeing, with the benefit of staying in a village. Would recommend.
Nothing to dislike.
Old character building set in quiet village within easy reach of canterbury. Very hospitable landlord who took time to socialise with us. Enjoyable breakfast.
Too insignificant to mention
Location, helpfulness of owners, village shop with cashpoint next door, nice pub for evening meal just down the road , bus service into the centre of Canterbury to save the hassle of finding car park
Excellent for exploring Kent by car. . Two very good nearby restaurants. Good bus service past the door to numerous places
The hotel itself is small and familiar. All the facilities are fairly new, clean and comfortable. Staff is really nice, breakfast amazing. The only minus (which has not been my case) might be the location if you do not have your own/rented car. There might be buses going through but I would recommend to ask. By car, however, it is not more than 10 mins drinving to Canterbury. Plus, they have their private/free of charge parking slots. Really enjoyed it!
Ideal for exploring the area. The room was a good size and everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cooked food if required .
Nothing worth mentioning.
The friendliness of the staff, even turning up early for checkin we were warmly welcomed. Service during breakfast was faultless and the quality of the food etc awesome. Location is nice, middle of a small village with a couple of pubs for walking to for a drink or a meal. Only 4 and a bit miles from Canterbury, so a nice short journey to visit this beautiful town.
Great breakfast, friendly staff and spacious room. Under a 10 min drive from Canterbury town.
The shower water took a long time to get warm!
Excellent breakfast, quiet at night, very very nice owners, parking for free, what else do you need?!
A bit cold (despite heater being on, could not turn it up)
Off street parking, convenience to Canterbury but removed from immediate noise and bustle of a big city, pleasant and helpful staff, interesting building, walking distance to two pubs, reasonable tarriff
Peace and quiet, good breakfast, genial boast clean and comfortable
The inn is quiet and comfortable with great bus service to Canterbury and the ports on the coast. There is a very good inn within a hundred yards or so which serves excellent evening meals and a shop and cash point similarly conveniently located. Breakfasts were copious featuring a lot of locally sourced foods. From first to last the hosts were welcoming, helpful and professional.
Cannot fault the excellent breakfast complete with home-made marmalade
Situated in an attractive Kent village with a frequent bus service into Canterbury, and with a pub nearby serving excellent meals. I was made welcome at the Pilgrims Rest and it proved the ideal base, enabling me to spend lots of time visiting my aunt for her very important birthday. So important as I had travelled from New Zealand to be with her.
There was a hiccup over the booking arrangments. My original intention was to stay for 3 nights with my partner, but she was not able to make it. I changed my booking to one person for 4 nights. This simple change could not be handled by the booking software on the Booking.com website. Changing the booking is stated to be easy, but it left the Owner in confusion, thinking there were two sets of visitors of the same name. There needs to be a sharply defined difference between Cancel and Change or Upgrade.
Comfortable, good breakfast and on direct bus route into Canterbury
Would have been useful to have an information pack in room with local eateries etc
Friendly owner, good breakfast, excellent wifi
The staff where friendly and accommodating. The food and service was excellent, with the staff/owners giving you friendly advice on where to go, the bus times, where they drop off and pick up, local taxi numbers, etc. All in all it was an enjoyable place to stay and I will/would most certainly recommend the Pilgrims Rest to all.
Excellent Breakfast and room very comfortable."especially the bed". Everything one could want had been thought of. Would book again if in area.
A little tight getting in and out of car park.
staff lovely & welcoming & helpful -breakfast very tasty - would stay there again !
The owners were friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast and choice were top notch. Lovely homely feel about the place
There's not really anything negative to say about the Pilgrims Rest. The room felt a little "stuffy" even with the window open but that was probably just the outdoor temperature.
It's one of those wonderful little gems that you stumble upon. As everything is of an excellent standard there is nothing specific to rave about, just the entire experience.
The only thing that we didn't like was leaving!
Lovely, cosy, bed and breakfast accommodation in a very convenient position for exploring East Kent. Excellent Host/ess and super breakfast. Good parking facilities.
One of the best B&Bs we have stopped at. Spotlessly clean and well cared for. Beautifully finished detailing in the room we had and a first class breakfast. Good evening food is available at a nearby pub, so we will doubtless be staying again when heading for the tunnell or dover - or even for a couple of days in Kent. Another plus is adequate off-street parking for guests
