May's House is less than 1 mile from central Liverpool's major attractions, including the Albert Dock and Liverpool One Shopping Centre. It is within a 15-minute walk of The Beatles Story and museums....
Score from 256 reviews Very good
Neither bedside lights worked so lone walk from light switch and staff were very noisy outside room at 1.30 am whilst cleaning pub(shouting and arguing.
The Pineapple Hotel is situated in Toxteth, an inner Liverpoodlian area not too far from the city centre. In fact, if you catch the bus no. 82 (one every 3 mins) running till late, and it takes only 10 minutes to reach Liverpool Lime Street Station or the Albert Dock. The area itself is nice but not amazing, but you can sleep well. Our room was small and cozy: we had a kettle with tea and coffee, a big tv and a large common-use bathroom. The room was not on top of the hotel as I expected, but it was no problem at all. It is in Isaac Street, and located in a house on its own. There is a huge Tesco very close, 24 hours open. The bus stop is just opposite Tesco, so it is very easy to do some shopping or reach the town. There are loads of take away shops, too. If you are a huge Beatles' fan like myself, Ringo's house is only 15 mins walking, in a very pretty area. For John's, Paul's and George's, I suggest to go into town and catch the bus no. 75, which leads you straight into Menlove Avenue, therefore close to Forthlin Road, Penny Lane and Arnold Grove.
The breakfasts were good and the staff were lovely
No toiletries in shower room
The room was very cold. Gas heating system was not working. There was an electric heater but it was very small. The tap water was cold.
Cheaper than any other double room I have found (but still expensive). Big Tesco 24/7 on the other side of the road. Comfortable bed. TV. Bar in building (but never used). Bus to center and air port, but 30 min walk to center (we never took the bus).
Interior of the building could be less cheesy (artificial flowers, etc.). Thin walls, gaps under doors (last night were new visitors, the noise from the hallway at night can be disruptive). The place is ok but lacking something (but I do not know what), so I would try something else if I would be in Liverpool again. You will not be disappointed, but you will not be particularly happy eighter.
The bedroom, shared bathroom, bar and the location.
Grumpy landlord, moaning about breakfast orders. Greasy eggs.
Only £3.50 for a taxi to concert square went on a girls night out was right across road from tesco xtra came home at 4-30am n was let straight in by porter very clean n comfortable exactly what we wanted n cheap
No hot water
The welcome was exceptional, very welcoming. Have already made another reservation.
The friendly cosy atmosphere.
Clean Comfortable, nice breakfast
Booking by credit card but only accepted cash which could have left us stuck.
location only a short bus or taxi ride into city
the steep stairs to the top floor
They allowed me and my cousin to arrive early and get breakfast, when they could have said no. Very friendly and helpful in making our stay a better one! Will definitly be back to stay and will recommend to others.
Clean and comfortable breakfast ok
Entrance is via pub where drunk people swear in almost all words and stare at you. Noisy Rooms too small. Not value for money as there are other hotels with similar price but much much better facilities and services.
Receptionist are friendly it. Is cheap price if you want to use it just for one or few days location is good near by Tassco which you can buy any thing
no mention that the payment card wasn't working in the confirmation email. I have a broken toe and I had to walk to find a cash machine.

plumbing a bit dodgy...didn't spoil my stay
The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The location was across from the Tesco, so it was easy shopping and getting bite to eat late at night.
The proprietor was too busy with his football match to help us get oriented. The credit card machines was "broken" so we unexpectedly needed to pay in cash. The toilet/shower down the hall was not maintained well (no TP in the toilet). Room overlooked a busy street that had traffic all night. not a good price for what we got.
Staff lovely Rooms clean and big Bar
For the price it i a good place to stay. Some other reviews have been unfairly negative, but you get what you pay for and some previous reviewers need to dig a bit deeper into their pockets to get what they expect from an hotel. Guiness at £2.80 a pint seals the deal for me.
The hot water takes too long to get from the boiler to the rooms.
The location was great, only a 20min walk to the city centre with a bus directly outside. 24hr supermarket opposite.
It should be clear that the accommodation is not an annex but a separate terraced house on a nearby street. The windows need curtains instead of blinds as the light floods in 1st thing in the morning. Also the wireless access point needs to be moved form one of the rented rooms to the hallway, as it can be accidentally switched off by one of the guests.
Friendly atmosphere.Clean room.Fairly quiet area
Rather a long distance from the main atttactions of Liverpool
Comfy beds rooms clean bathrooms could do with a few more towels very basic but did the job as a bed for the night over a weekend.
Small rooms not very big for 2 people.
- nice view from the window over the Mersey river and the docks - the room we got was quite spacious - comfortable beds
- we had a shared bathroom just opposite our door at the corridor and early morning there were other people queueing to use it and chatting
Close to everything. Friendly staff that let us check in early. It was £55 for an en-suite twin the music festival weekend and it was only to sleep in so the lack of facilities wasn't a problem. If it was improved the price would increase so you get what you pay for
Breakfast was the worst I've ever had but it was an extra so just go over the road to the Tesco cafe.
