Very good,

The room we stayed in was really nice & comfortable we stayed in the Euxton Suite. It was very clean the bed was really comfortable & the staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice overall our stay was good. The bath & shower were disappointing we had to wait for hot water, the jacuzzi was disappointing as it was not very powerful as for the shower it was really just a trickle. Being in an hotel you would expect hot water to be available at all times, also the rooms were quite cold there was no way of making the room warmer we had to wait for the heating to come on also the bed was freezing when we got in.

Food in restaurant excellent and staff very courteous. The saviour of this place is the restaurant - good if pricey Rooms and corridoors in need of serious make over Soft furnishings with cigarette burns.....I Thought smoking was banned 4 1/2 years ago! Gaping hole in window frame where it had rotted away.....obviously been that way for a long time. Shoe shine machine in corridoor that has not worked or beeen safe for a very long time, why not get rid of it! Send in Alex Pollizzi she could tell them waht to do. Internet didn't work either

Normally we stay at two or three star hotels and guest houses but we chose the Pines Hotel which is at a level we can afford for a prestigeous venue for our golden wedding anniversary. We felt that we spent the time in a fairly luxuriant ambiance without breaking the bank. The staff were very friendly and we felt a genuine welcome. Although there is very little not to like and although not a complaint, I would make mention that although our room was superior, (to which we were upgraded without additional charge) it revealed signs of ageing that were in need of attention and, the view from our window was to the rear of the hotel's facade wwhich indicated that it had been neglected for some time. These two items detracted from the overall experience of a very nice room and is really the only aspect of the hotel that we didn't like.

I thought the staff were all really friendly, and the services was great. The hotel grounds were picturest and well looked after, the decor in the dining room was stunning and the food was fabulous. I thought that the bathroom in my room was very dated and deffinately needed updating, (I did get a look at one of the other suites and that was much better). The price of the drinks were quite expensive.

Our visit was instigated by an invite to a friend's 50th birthday celebration. We attended one of the party nights in the adjoining Dixon Suite, entertainment was good and the food/service was excellent. We had a basic room which was well above average, spacious and comfortable. Full english breakfast (with 2 eggs) was very tasty. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys comfort and polite staff.

It was our 30th anniversary and we were returning to where we had our wedding reception and booked a junior suite and asked for a "nice" room, however hotel room and bathroom decoration appeared dated and tired and there was only a view over the roof areas.

The Pines Hotel is set in beautiful gardens with ample parking space. The room was spotless, attractively decorated and supplied with all required facilities. All staff were extremely friendly and very helpful and courteous. The restaurant is of high quality with an extensive menu and the food delicious. All these qualities made our visit a very enjoyable experience with good value for money and a desire to return in the near future.

Reception was good and room clean albeit not to our taste. Bathroom was modern and spacious. Following our check in we went for a drink in the bar/conservatory, one of the reasons we booked this hotel. A 'private function' sign had appeared on the door to the bar and a member of staff would not allow access. This was because of a wedding party. I was informed that if I wanted a drink I would need to have room service. There was no mention of this at the time of booking or check in, this spoilt our stay.
