Acarsaid is a family-run hotel a short stroll from the center of town. It offers a great breakfast and a dinner menu focusing on local produce.
Score from 402 reviews Wonderful
The level of cleanliness in the room was not high. The comfort of the mattress was poor. In real term it ought to have been replace some time ago as it is well past tis sell by date. Even looking at the bed it was easy to see that it sank in the middle.
The location and facilities of the hotel are all very good. The breakfast was good, but not outstanding.
WiFi not in bedrooms.
Great stay, staff lovely, we were upgraded on arrival and great price for a Sunday night.
Bedroom dusty, stained carpet, musty smell. Cocktail bar with no cocktails. Only one type of wine available by the glass and the bar shut earlier than advertised!
Stunning building and Friendly staff
Mouldy, corroded pool changing rooms and disgusting crusty mould in the Sauna bench slats..!
Staff very friendly and helpful
Great location, great staff, fab room.
Noisy room at top of stairs opposite fire door. a lot of traffic in/out of door.
The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
One of the twin beds had the springs coming through the mattress.Shower pipe covered with black tape and sticking plaster. Showers in spa not up to standard required for a hotel of this stature. Carpet had a lump running the length of the bedroom, accident waiting to happen. Toilet holder loose, toilet paper kept on falling off holder onto floor.
Staff were very nice at all times.
Location of hotel
The staff were nice and helpful
Some more care and attention to cleaning wouldn't go amiss. I can ignore pealing paint work but the brown grizzly toilet brush could have been binned 10 years ago, the dust bunnies behind the toilet and hanging off the ceiling would have been easy to address and the general smell of urine was a bit off putting. The breakfast is supposed to be available until 09:30 but they start to pack it all away at 09:15 so you have to be quick if you want anything! I also didn't appreciate being made to feel guilty for asking for strong coffee when they openly admitted they would just pour instant coffee in. None of these things would have cost the hotel any extra but would have made it seem less tired and designed for coach tours on a conveyor belt.
Reception team were very friendly and helpful in recommending things to see and do. The bed was clean and comfortable and the corner room had good views. Great recommendations of places to eat and drink not far from the hotel (not recommended to eat at the hotel!)
Restaurant last booking was 8pm which was a bit early. Everything else was great
For only £45 for two people including breakfast we were not expecting much but the room was clean and spacious. We had access to the swimming pool and spa but on this occasion did not use. We had dinner at the hotel which was excellent. We did not have breakfast so couldn't comment but would expect it to be good.
Cleanlines in all areas. Staff friendly and helpful. Good value for money.
Not having enough time to spend in the hotel.
The staff were lovely and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel.
The first room we were shown to was very cold and smelt musty, we asked to be moved to another room which was better although would have been £25 per night more but was given to us without any charge. Décor is tired, average age of other guests must be about 70 to 80. Overall disappointing, we have stayed in Crieff and Peebles hydro and both were vastly superior.
The staff were in general helpful and pleasant and the food was very good
Room was extremely dated, the radiator clicked throughout the nigh keeping us awake. The customer service was terrible. We were only offered dinner between 6.30 and 7.30 as the hotel was quiet! Not impressed and won't be back to a hotel which is now set up to cater for large coach parties.
Great to have the leisure facilities
Wifi only in loby
Free upgrade to bigger room , great pool etc very efficient dinning staff
Room was just upgraded lovely
Breakfast was ok. Felt it could have been better quality and more choice of cereals
The evening meal was good . Decor in lobby and bar lovely . Staff very pleasant .
Noisy, motion sensor heating. Bright green light on control for bathroom heating shining in face when trying to get to sleep. Check in and check out seemed very process driven, not personalised and no attempt made to interact with us. The block of out of date cheese left chilling on the outside window ledge of our room!
Good sized bedroom. Very comfy bed. Friendly F&B staff, if a little unsure sometimes on the drinks and food items available - ie from the restaurant I had to go back to the bar myself to find out what beers were available.
The first room was dreadful, stained carpet, cracked sink ground floor high windows and no view. Second slightly better but very basic and shower dripped. Swim pool ok but changing rooms damp and very scruffy. Staff surly and keen to get you out of dining room in eve. Would not recommend this hotel.
cold room, cool/cold water from shower, room and especially bathroom very very shabby. No view we looked out onto a selection of roofs and in a place like Pitlochry this was disappointing. We asked to change rooms but were told there was not another room available.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment at night was good. Breakfast was adequate.
No wifi in rooms also bar closes to early and pool not open late enough
Everything was nice and the staff but the bar was closed when we got in at 11.30
Okay, I paid a reasonable amount for a standard room/bed and breakfast for two nights. The room was okay but in parts it was dirty. The bed springs could be felt, the carpet needed a hoover, the mirrors on the wall hadn't seen a duster in months. The bathroom bin was disgusting and there was no shower curtain, which to be fair I wasn't too bothered about as at least when I showered the floor got a wash. Staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful, those that could speak English that is! I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend it to anyone.
I liked the fact there was a pool and sauna, it was just too bad the sauna was out of order.
No shelves in the bathroom to put your toiletries on. Heating mediocre.
Helpful staff, large comfortable bedrooms & lovely swimming area.
