The Poplars  

Location was great just 5 mins walk from the main high street and only slightly further to the Cathedral and Castle. Facilities were comfortable and clean. Value for money was good. Self service breakfast options were great...almost felt like a home from home for breakfast! :)

Situated on a steep slope and getting the car into the driveway is a bit of a task. On site parking space is very limited and may not allow for you to come and go using your car as you please (as you could get blocked in).

Friendly welcome,peaceful,we were not "bothered".left to enjoy ourselves.extremely convenient for city centre.comfortable,Brreakfast everything one could wish for.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, great value for money and a brilliant location for both the city centre and the castle/cathedral. Would definitely stay here again.

shared bathroom and drive into the house, it was on a very steep incline and was scary to drive up and down.

Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly welcoming staff. Especially liked the informal, "come and go as you like" aspect, which made us feel very much at home. Loved your bathroom!

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Ideal location for exploring the centre of Lincoln. Lovely views from the front facing rooms. Good choice at buffet breakfast.

Steep hill to reach it. Was ok for me, but can imagine somebody who is unfit struggling to get there.

the entrance is very narrow A large car looses wing mirrors on the way out is hard on sumps

Martin was a godsend even though the hotel had closed he waited up for my arrival and was bright as a button and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Martin I was pretty shatered by the time I got to town. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Everything, lovely accommodation, very well tastefully decorated and very clean, very welcoming hosts,very quiet location but minutes from town so ideal. House was very quiet you could not hear other guests, rooms were very spacious and well equipt, 10/10. Would stay here again.

The driveway, very steep, not suitable for most cars to access but parking was just a few minutes away in a carpark overlooked by police station and well lit. overnight charges only £2.50.

Very pleasant stay, nothing was too much trouble, very good quality linen and comfortable bed, liked the vast selection of teas. The price for the area was outstanding, I was worried it was to cheap!! And free parking. Noticed a few reviews complaining about steep drive, a problem if you can't drive E.g not a problem

A warm welcome and friendly owners.Helpful advice about where to eat locally as we arrived quite late.The hotel has lots of charm and character,with so many individual touches,like the wide selection of teas in the room and lovely coffee.Breakfast was excellent in a beautiful and charming setting.Its obvious that the owners have done a lot to make guests feel welcome and I highly recommend anyone to visit the Poplars.

I liked the view, breakfast, friendly welcoming.

It was cold. You should turn on the heat at the breakfast room at least 15 min. Before the guests arrive. It was freezing and you could hardly sit down, you needed to keep in movement to get some warmth. The heating was turned on about 10 min after we entered the room and it took some 30 min to get warm. You loose clients that way.
