St Ives Harbour Hotel & Spa  

Care well above what we would have expected from a first rate hotel! Superb!

The on-site spa is excellent as is the hotel's restaurant.

The room was poor for the price charged. Real difficulties caused by the name of the hotel on the Booking.com website. The website also performed poorly in not offering a very good value deal which the hotel finally offered us.

Position of hotel and view from dining room.

Room 211 on main road view was of 4 downspouts and walls of hotel. Not quite what I expected from the web site.

The freindliness of the staff. Good service and excellent food. Also the wonderful setting and view from our room and all areas where we sat.

We had a lovely break the view from the hotel was excellent the weather good the staff very friendly the parking a bit of a problem with the building workon

The name of the hotel was confusing looking for the above name the old name still there

Great location, brilliant staff, made welcome from the minute we turned up, had a great room and thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay

I went with a friend to celebrate her 50th birthday. It was lovely - the only complaint I have is that everything stopped during saturday because the was a wedding. We were unabe to use the beach entrance and were unable to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine - Kind regard Lizzie Higman P.S. I would stay again though.

Great location with view over the beach and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that the car park directly opposite was functioning despite the renivation work! Had a few problems finding the hotel as it was named "Portminster Hotel", and not St Ives Harbour, but that should change soon.

I realise that you are in the process of updating the hotel so we expected things not to be perfect. However this did not retract us from enjoying our short break.Having spent all my working life in construction industry and having travelled quite a bit, new double glazed units would not only look pleasing but would be easier to clean!!!!! Looking forward to a break at Christmas 2012 Brian Chambers.

Although the hotel is going under refurbishments this did not compromise any part of our stay. The staff are friendly, room was nicely decorated and the food was amazing. We only stayed for 2nights each morning breakfast was overlooking the beach. We ate at the al la carte resturante and that was great value for money food amazing, service professional and attentive. The pool is very tranquil and beautifully designed for a small spa, only downside was there wasn't any treatment times left so would recommend pre booking them. St Ives as always is beautiful and the hotel made it even more special will defiantly be staying again

Car park away from hotel but porters are available. Bathroom shower kept gaining heat so had to keep turning temperature down. Tv wasn't tuned in and view was of road. But only minor details all in all great stay and hotel was beautiful!

Staff were keen and friendly, and understanding - we were moved to a better room when the rain came through the ceiling! Location is great for Porthminster beach, the town and the station. Spa is a good idea; my wife said her massage was very good.

At the time we stayed the refurbishment appeared to be incomplete, and some aspects of the newly opened spa were faulty (E.G. no lights in the steam room). Hopefully management can finish the whole refurbishment job, throughout the hotel.

Great location and great views from the resturant.

Excellent value for money deal. Situated overlooking what must be the best beach in the uk and only 5 / 6 minutes walk from the harbour. The hotel was in the process of being renovated which wasn't a problem in itself. Our room was very comfortable and the furnishings and fittings were of a good quality. The lounge and dining areas were very chic and the spa / leisure complex was excellent.

The exterior wall of our room had a serious damp problem, but had been renovated even though this must have been obvious to the builders at the time. It was easy to get lost in the hotel. The staff had a habit of calling mixed sex couples "guys" which is a pet hate of mine as we're not american. The evening meal was only average. Overall though, we had a really good value for money break with unlimited use of the leisure facilities. I would however want these matters i've raised dealt with if we were paying full whack...
