Bars are a little boring but that's sometimes not so bad
Highly recommend the deluxe double room - incredibly spacious and more like an apartment than a hotel room. Excellent meal in the restaurant and all the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommendations here.
Really couldn't fault anything
EVERYTHING --TEN OUT OF TEN
On arrival we had a friendly welcome and staff went out of their way to help us settle in, room was first class so was the food all staff, bar and restaurant were very helpful and friendly, would Definitely recommend
The room was truly delightful in the Castell, room 1. The food was good and the staff were friendly.
There was a little confusion over my breakfast order on both days.
The location & restaurants. The Bistro restaurant at the Castle is more informal than the hotel restaurant - portions are slightly larger & prices slightly less. Both restaurant would benefit by having more subdued lighting & background music perhaps. The restaurant manageress at the Castle was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble.
Everything. The whole experience was amazing. From the views to the hotel and village.
The overwhelming friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The comfort and size of the room with beautiful views
The scenery and character was very charming
The room was very cold and there was a window that didn't shut. Very difficult to find our room as we weren't given a map or clear directions. Were told that we should have had a member of staff to show us but when asked they didn't know either! It took us a stressful 50 mins later with help from the Gardner.
The village. The attention to detail. The quality of the produce is excellent.
Corridor right outside our room in regular use, House 5. I found the menu a little "Cheffie". No Welsh Lamb on the menu !
The view is out of this world . Lovely hotel for romantic break
Every time anyone walked down the corridor the door rattled as if someone was coming in . There was a background humming noise that didn't stop till midnight & started again at 5
Complete experience fantastic , staff are friendly nothing too much trouble
no lamb or beef on menu during our stay
Size of the room and the complimentary sherry
Great Castle Great Room Very Clean
Accommodation excellent, bed comfy everything was perfect, staff very friendly. Food excellent
Only two places of choice to eat unless you wish to drive. Both very expensive, nothing in between. On special occasions you are prepared to pay but not every night.
The size of, and level of thought which goes into, the accommodation plus the sheer interest and outstanding beauty of the location
We stayed in the village in lower pilot. We had fantastic views over the water and village. The suite was perfect hotel was buetifull and our breakfast was one of the best we have had.
The hotel, the staff, the food, portmeirion - excellent, loved it all.n
Having to leave.
Lovely well appointed and clean room with large bed. Room set in the "prisoner's" village. Wandered around after day visitors had left, bliss. Collected on time in mini bus for a great meal at the castell and brought back. Lovely toiletries and a glass or 2 of sherry in the room. Beautiful breakfast in main hotel over looking the estuary next morning. Staff were completely charming.
Navigating the estate to find our way around in the car was very confusing.
Loved the hotel and the village, food and comfort were excellent and all the staff were lovely!
A minor thing really but they do tend to rush the evening meal and its so nice it would be nice to have a break of at least 10-15 mins between courses
