The accomadation was good. The food was exellent. The service was good.

The staff were all helpful and pleasant. Room was different to many standard type hotels. Bedroom, bathroom and seating area. Spotlessly clean. Food was lovely. Excellent location for exploring Lancashire which has a lot to offer.

Televisions a little dated. Bar closed early.

Very pleasant hotel ,comfy room good food friendly staff,we left something behind and it was sent to us within 2days,we would recommend to anyone .

Super food and amazing staff! Good size room with a nice bed. Easy to find and park. Great beer too.

Shower was terrible with low water pressure and switching from cold to boiling hot! Everything else was good or better though.

Convenient to M6. Staff efficient and friendly. Food was good too.

Room had shower but no bath - didn't make a fuss as we were only there for one night - also noisy fan outside window, but it shut off when kitchen/bar closed so not a big problem.

Interesting building. Good dining. Lovely village. Easy access from m6. Comfortable room.

Hotel listing mentioned facilities for disabled guests, but room allocated was upstairs with only partial handrail. Had to go outside to get from rooms to dining room etc and flag stone path was uneven and had steps. Generally not easy for people with walking difficulties.

Friendly welcome as we arrived and the staff remained friendly,polite,informative throughout our stay. Genuinely seemed to love their work and surroundings.Meals/food were excellent and priced well. English breakfast superb and always piping hot. Room was clean and tidy. Lovely surroundings. Relaxing and peaceful as we wanted.The dining room was being painted around us, but, didn't affect our stay. This was giving the place a much brighter/lighter feel to it, which I would say was the only thing it did need. Don't need to change anything else about it.Fab u lous!!!!!

This is a really "comfortable" hotel - one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The staff are really welcoming and helpful and cannot do enough to help. The rooms are really comfortable and well equipped. The food is fantastic and with Real ales too! If only all the Hotels I stayed in were like this. Looking forward to returning.

The location is delightful and close to main road / motorway. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, well appointed and excellent value for B&B. Evening meal was a good standard with a good choice and not too expensive. A real delight.

Staff exceptionally welcoming and couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy. Food is excellent, great pub, lovely wines, breakfast by the log burning stove with fresh fruit and freshly cooked breakfast with a complimentary newspaper was wonderful. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet, with a nice character feel. Very happy customers can't wait to come back for a longer stay.

All staff without exception were fantastic and could not be faulted.

The food was very good and reasonably priced. Waitress was helpful & friendly

Lack of outside lighting and signage made it very unwelcoming. Reception was dark and dismal. Cold rooms, radiator was not adjustable. Having to go outside in wet, cold weather to get to rooms, there was little light, uneven surfaces and offset steps.

It's a home from home

I liked everything. Very good bedroom, bathroom and separate sitting room annex where I could do some work in comfort. Lovely bar with open fire, lovely people at every contact from booking in, having a drink in the bar, and having a lovely meal from a choice where I could have easily picked 4 or 5 dishes.

it was a lovely hotel with very attentive and friendly staff. the food was amazing and the location was perfect for our little getaway! would definitely stay again and recommend to others!
