The staff were pleasant & helpful & the premises were nice downstairs. As much toast & coffee or tea as you wanted. Breakfast was small (1 bacon, 1 sausage, beans, egg) but well cooked.
Room was very cramped. Generally grubby. Bathroom was dirty. Central heating was broken. Electric heater that was supplied had broken leg.
The breakfast was pretty good and the staff were very polite and friendly.
Sadly the hotel is very run down and needs a refurb through out. The bathrooms were full of mould and the carpets were very threadbear. Stayed with family and one said their bathroom was filthy. Our hotel room was really small and only had room for a double bed and not much else.
My room was very noisy. I could hear a lot of banging from what I guess was the kitchen til quite late at night.
the venue location. staff friendly, welcoming. the environment was good. breakfast was excellent.
the venue was in need of a refresh. it looked tired and shabby in places. the cleanliness of the room needed more attention. in appearance was clean, but areas were very dusty/dirty (between bed and wardrobe), hairs in the bathroom, hole in the wall, carpets a bit dull and dusty. Althoughfood was nice - evening meal not hot enough free wifi did not work.
Checking in was easy and staff friendly. Food was served quickly and was ok. Food waiting staff worked very hard serving food and clearing tables. Bedding on bed was clean. Breakfast was choices if cereals, fruit and cooked breakfast and was ok. Wouldn't stay here again due to general cleanliness in bedrooms and surrounding areas.
Bedroom left a lot to be desired, ripped brown net at one window and carpet very dirty. Beds need replacing. Food dropped on the floors in dining areas wasn't cleared up.
Sadly the room had been inadequatley cleaned and there was a half eaten packet of marshmallows down on the floor behind the tv in room 8 prob still there!
staff, breakfast, room was comfortable (had a four poster)
radiator in the room had been leaking for some time (the carpet had been turned back, and a wastebin placed underneath to catch the drips). When I commented on this, was told "... it should be fixed next week". bit disappointing, to say the least ....
Cooked breakfast very nice. Car park was full on Saturday evening, but easy to park outside the pub on Psalter Lane, and the car was fine there overnight. Staff very friendly and helpful.
We attended our friends' 40th and 50th birthday party, the buffet food was lovely and the drinks reasonable priced. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
Our room was room 10. It was dark and dingy, the carpet was grotty, the skirting boards were filthy and the bathroom wasn't thoroughly cleaned - there was dried toothpaste in the sink & half used complimentary toiletries. The toilet needed bleaching. The shower was terrible either too hot or freezing cold. I would not go back to stay. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on it.
The four poster bed was an added bonus, breakfast was good and the service was excellent. We was made to feel at home from the moment we walked in the door. The room was clean and serviced daily.
Price Bar Facilities Breakfast Great Bed
Dated set up Cobwebs around the room
The Bathroom not very clean, poor Hesating
Close to where we wanted to be
Tired ready for an update. Floors very uneven
down to earth. quiet room
room and ensuite not vert clean
Being able to eat and sleep without having to move location
Crowded car park and main road made parking a little awkward.Perhaps dedicated spaces for residents, although this would probably be impossible to police
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great cooked breakfast! Nice location.
Little bit tatty, but it is only a 2 star hotel.
Value for money Good value breakfast Location good for being on the right side of sheffield for visiting our student daughter in student village.
Fan was noisy in bathroom Loo roll holder too close to loo and awkward for the larger man
staff very friendly and helpful
no lifts - when you have heavy luggage getting to the rooms was back-breaking room was very tatty, ceiling was damp and wall paper peeling off, bathroom had dead wasps in the bath and bath was dusty
Staff were very helpful. Food was good. Bar area and surroundings quite good.
The bedroom we were allocated as a double room was so small claustrophobia was setting in as soon as we entered it. We spent one night in it. Fair play to the manager he gave us another room the next morning. The "lace" curtains could do with replacing and the mirrors could do with a very good dusting in both of the rooms we stayed in. Breakfast was a bit behind the times. They had a coffee brewing machine there, yet instant rubbish is all we were offered at the help yourself bar counter. I like brewed coffee. Have ye never heard of white pudding for breakfast. Sausages need to be serve brown all over, not a bit brown and the rest white. Very off putting.
Not alot to be honest. As a single mother of a disabled child I don't get the opportunity to go away alone very often. When I do, I am usually lucky enough to stay in very much nicer places than this. I was visiting my daughter at Uni. Very very disappointed!
Now where shall I start? My room was dingy. The bathroom was dirty with mould around taps & tiling. The shower curtain was also mouldy. The room was dusty, lacklustre & with appaling decor. There was a messy hole in the wall above the radiator and the net curtain was tatty and a lovely shade of mocha! Breakfast...the bacon was also a funny colour, came with griddle marks on it and tasted of beef burgers, making me assume it was cooked on the same grill as the burgers the night before. Service at breakfast was completely without interest. The lack of a "good morning" or even a smile was really the order of my whole experience. I will NEVER stay here again and would wholeheartedly suggest you don't either.
Short beer measure at the bar, dust on the TV.
Breakfast Price Location Staff Evening meal
The room needed a bit of tlc but for the price that was charged it was fine!
Bar staff were helpful in giving directions to where i was going.
Bath with no shower and poor fitting plug. Wallpaper hanging off ceiling, tv remote not there, hair dryer not working. Door would not shut properly unless you slammed it, which would not be fun for other guests.
