“ Very friendly service. Everybody there was very friendly and very accomodating. A special thanks to Big Ben and the boys. The cooking was outstanding but I'm afraid I gained weight. ”

Staff were great, really friendly and helpful! The food was brilliant, I'd recomend a visit even if you don't plan a stay. For the price you pay for the room, it is ideal! Thanks to the staff! The sign on the road to point the turning is pretty much hidden and on a fast road. Thankfully I've been here before but it is quite hard to see, especially in summer with all the long grass. Very minor thing though and does not detract from the over all stay!

Just a nice place to stay for a couple of nights to relax. Staff very good, a good all round standard for the price. Altough the food in the pub was good quailty thought it was expensive many places in Lincoln served simular food at more economic prices

Good quality food with wide range of choices. No telephones in room and no wifi or other form of internet access. No facilities for charging food etc to the room - bar bills had to be settled nightly.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We liked the location. The beds were very comfortable and the food was good too. Shower was cold and the hair dryer did not work properly so we would say the facilities in our room were not up to the standard that we paid.

The Inn was very cozy and friendly had a great atmosphere and the food was superb. The staff were great too, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for any of them, and there were plenty of staff on duty, the food service was brilliant. Oh and they sell a mean pint of hand pulled Speckled Hen. Leaving after only 1 night, certainly one for the must return list.

When we arrived we told the staff we would not make breakfast as my husband was completing the Lincoln triathlon and we needed to leave before 7.30am on the Sunday morning however the Chief said it would be no trouble to do breakfast for us and bang on 7am we were served a lovely hearty english breakfast which showed how they really went the extra mile for us.

Room, cleanliness, food, facilities all great and the place had a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Access to centre of Lincoln is a 30 minute stroll along hard path by canal.

Quiet location, although very close to busy a46. Bedrooms spacious, well- equipped and ample storage. 1.75 mile walk along towpath to city centre. Mattress on large double bed had seen better days - now thin and springs could be felt and heard. Traffic noise at night from adjacent a46 so windows kept closed. Breakfasts - one plate only, no side plate, no toast, no cereals. Any toast came as part of cooked breakfast only. Not asked if we would like toast/cereal as well as cooked so only one choice out of a few, no "mix and match". Eg. No cooked food then toast & marmalade. Evening meal food was ok. No veg as side orders. Luckily no rain or wet walk to breakfast would not have amused. Old critic of "food to die for" is very out of date!

Efficient and courteous staff who made us feel very welcome. Accommodation, in a separate block, was clean and very comfortable. Evening meals had a good range and generally of good quality, as was the choice at breakfast. Location was off the beaten track and, had the weather been warmer (!), we would have braved the full length of the walk into Lincoln. Nothing too bad. Can understand other reviewers' dislikes regarding noise from a nearby road but, for us, this was no problem as the weather did not necessitate the opening of windows at night! On the second day, there were some issues with the heating but we were not overtly affected.

The location - lovely walk down canal to Lincoln city centre The full breakfast was excellent! The room was very comfortable. We had to play with the tv to get channels and had no telephone to ring the reception (which was in a separate building) about it. The shower head needs a good clean and was hard to adjust the spray.

Quiet location & good food & drink Some decor a bit tatty, ie stain on carpet, missing cover off shower control, torn patched bedspread. Having to ask for rather being offered parts of breakfast.

Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast. Nice large room with views across the fields towards Lincoln. Reasonable price. I would definitely go there again if staying in the area. Difficult to find. Don't rely on entering the postcode into your gps, as it will take you to the wrong place.
