Their new addition was very well done, and away from the noise of the bar, so very quiet. The manager was very helpful.
The room could do with a shelf or luggage rack, as there was nowhere to put our suitcases. The breakfast service was a bit haphazard!
We stayed in the rooms which are just at the back of the queens head ,The rooms where newly renovated and very clean and the facilities where very good. In the evening we chose to go out into the village to eat and return to the queens head later on when we did the pub had a band on and it was very busy . Good place to stay we would return .
This is remarkably good 'Pub' accomodation. It is ,and was chosen because it it, easy to walk to the main town attractions - the Opera House is very special! We had a lovely room in a recently opened small extension, and we were very well looked after.
Cleanliness of the Room, fresh clean feel, lovely and quiet. Central to Buxton
This is a new establishment with regards to the bed and breakfast side, the accommodation was great but the breakfast needs to be more inviting. No choice given with regards to cooked breakfast (i.e. I dont like fried eggs and wasnt asked if I didnt like anything. Breakfast was served with everything). Toast was an after thought and had to ask for plates and knives. only cranberry juice available.
New, modern and clean rooms
Breakfast a little basic but still excellent value for money
staff very friendly, and helpful. breakfast very good. room good size with good en-suite and large bed.
noisy students due to freshers week although this does not reflect on the Queens head service.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Poor parking area. Noise from doors and stairs in accommodation block.
Room was new, high standard fit out, very clean, great bed. Tea and coffee making was fine. Sky TV including sports. All worked in HD. Shower and toilet clean. We asked for a hair dryer and one was brought 2 us within minutes.
Pub part looked a little tired but was clean. Parking was poor but there are a few spaces we parked in the street behind as we were lucky and found a space. Breakfast we were unlucky as when we got there at 9.15 everything was almost empty. I got a small helping of cooked breakfast wife had serial first and then waited over 20 mins for her cooked breakfast. Staff member told us they had run out of food and had to go tesco. I fo feel we may have just been unlucky as food was good quality and cooked well.
The room and facilities were beautiful and even though it was a busy pub, there was no noise.
The bedroom was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable and clean
The breakfast facilities were good but the pub itself could do with updating to match the quality of the bedrooms
Lovely room built in 2014, brand new in a court yard extension. Breakfast pretty good value
Parking led to my car incurring a lot of damage over a busy bank holiday weekend. The new room did lack any sort of storage in the en suite and was very compact.
Clean and done every day Quiet, no noise from the pub
Hideous wallpaper Cheap furniture and mattress on double bed really uncomfortable No space to park in pub carpark. Had to park outside Sainsbury and get up before 8am to pay and display a ticket! Bathroom smelt of wet towels
room the room was fantastic and easy to access without disturbance from other guests. The breakfast was a bit cold but very tasty. The atmosphere inside the hotel was great also.
The drinks prices were a tad high.

Pub was dated
When in trouble on our way to Buxton, we received every possible help from the staff of the hotel. The rooms are brand new and very comfortable. Nicely served and generous English breakfast. Highly recommended!
Clean, tidy, friendly, good breakfast the girl was lovely
Noises guys in next room
Room and bathroom, towels changed every day. Very new, modern and clean.
Unfortunately being a pub it was a bit noisy late on, but nothing the landlord can do about that. Would still return .
The owners have just completed a brand new annexe to the rear, built to a very high standard. The facilities are excellent.
Parking is a bit restricted but they have plans to improve this - only delayed by the local authority.
Staff helpful Free and fast wifi Great breakfast Value for money
Noise from pub band on Fri night Older rooms tired and needing some TLC Parking tight but possible
Not a lot.
Very poor car parking facilities. Approach to accomodation not tidy. Room rather small.
Very comfortable room, newly built, clean and well designed. Food very good. Staff welcoming and very helpful.
We stayed one night in one of the brand new rooms. Our room had been completed to a high spec and was spacious and very comfortable. Our room was very quiet and we had an undisturbed sleep. Excellent breakfast.
That we only stayed one night!
Great Breakfast all you could eat and more! First class room, all brand new, super power shower, plenty of lights, lovely TV with sky. very comfy bed, WiFi the list could go on. We had a lovely time and we will be back. staff very friendly. If you don't book you will be missing out
Checked in at the Queens Head after our tent sunk at Y Not festival. Despite being covered in mud with ginormous bags/crates, the staff in this hotel were absolutely lovely and so helpful to us. We were helped carry our bags to our beautifully decorated, modern room. Our stay here was brilliant from beginning to end, could not fault it, would 100% recommend to everyone. We will be coming back every year.
Nicely decorated, clean rooms. Excellent breakfast and service. Friendly and helpful staff.
Due to us needing 2 rooms it was rather expensive for 1 family. Pillows too flat.
