Friendly staff and conveinient for the town centre. This is a very tired hotel that requies substantial investment. The decor is dated which gives an impression of neglect.

Found location great for my trip. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were aproachable. Breakfast good. Found it in dire need for a make over wallpaper hanging off walls and ceilling. Everything old fashioned and in need of a change. Entrance to Hotel dark and dismal.Water wasnt always hot as heating kept going off.

Breakfast was good My room was very dated with torn net curtains and the smallest tv I've ever seen in a hotel room! The bathroom was awfull!! Black mould around bath and on ceiling, the shower head was a loose fit in the holder and kept turning so it was facing outside the bath! The toilet cistern lid had a large crack in it and the window sill was rotten. When I opened the bedroom window all I could hear was the sound of a air conditioning unit or something similar!

The location and value for money was excellent. The staff are great yet the hotel needs a face lift. It is a fantastic building that needs investment. Fantastic building that is run down.

The staff where excellent, and the breakfast good. Lack of facilities- no bar, except a bar which is separate to the hotel and run as part of a night club; cleanliness of the rooms;

Location and friendly staff The Queens Head has been allowed to deteriorate which is sad considering it is in a prime position in the town. It is dark and depressing and the bedroom has not been decorated for about 30 years. Large hole in bathroom wall.Lampshade falling off. Breakfast finishes at 9. Checkout by 11. What do they do for the rest of the day? No lunches or evening meals.

Excellent service and very welcoming and friendly staff.The breakfasts were hot and freshly cooked (poached eggs were cooked in the proper way thanks to Lana and were delicious ! ). a very good value hotel which I would recommend. Some of the hotel decor is rather faded due to wear and tear and perhaps could do with some refreshing but this is obviously reflected in the price and the service provided by the staff more than compensates for this. I would be happy to pay a return visit. The adjoining bar "alley" was very noisy late on Saturday night and made sleep difficult.

We have known the Hotel for at least 50 years and we think it is sad to see it in it,s present condition.It is looking tired. Bedrooms,bathrooms and public areas are in need of some serious refurbishment.For example nail heads protruding through the bathroom floor covering! The entrance is shabby and guests having to walk through smokers to reach the reception, through what is in effect a side entrance, gives a very poor impression.

It was conveniently located and the breakfast was quite adequate. The duty staff were very helpful and friendly. The single rooms were very basic (no bedside light, 3 channel TV, basic bathroom with malfunctioning shower). One had no light working at all and my companion had to be moved (to a much better double room). Despite the web site showing a restaurant, the hotel operated as a simple B&B and even services like a fresh pot of tea were not available
