Only 2 hangers in wardrobe. TV did not work in main room could not be fixed. Should have been checked before guests are allocated rooms. No information pack about room or hotel supplied Breakfast nice but haphazard not enough staff.
Staff were nice and the hotel location in the middle of town is good with easy parking.

The room was not dusted properly. The heating was not properly adjusted (too hot).
Excellent Breakfast and good restaurant. Tastefull boutique interrior. Bathroom was relatively small, but very well designed with a large shower.

Couldn't book into restaurant, nightclub underneath in a back room lots of noise at 3am, kept awake. Asked for wake up call and did not get one.

The decor is tired in placed and it lets down the building.
The helpful staff.

Not a thing we had a lovely time.
Beautiful interior, great service, friendly staff. Cocktails, a meal, even a small music bar downstairs with a dance floor to carry the evening on should you wish. We had a great romantic night away in one of the suites. Spa bath was a nice touch. Totally recommended

Fridge broken. TV mount on wall was dodgy so it was hard to stop TV falling at an angle. Reported these things on day 1 and was told someone would take a look, but never heard anything else about it. A wooden slat fell out the bottom of the bed twice during the 3 nights, waking us up. Bed dips in the middle. One bathrobe and one chair for two of us seemed weird to us.
Staff went out of their way to be helpful (let us order room-service even though they don't normally do it and gave us a champagne bucket with ice when requested too). Loved the decor throughout the hotel. The food we ordered to the room was absolutely delicious.

some lights not working. blind pull missing no hairdryer. bed uncomfortable, old and creaky. mirror not suitable for doing hair etc. main reception rooms tired looking and not too clean. Valentine meal, breakfast, needs a lot more thought and effort put into it
the bath robes, the surrounding countryside

Attention to detail in the rooms. I had a double room and then a second floor suite. Neither had any waste receptacles other than in a bathroom. In the suite, the coat cupboard had one tiny hook and no rail for coat hangers. With the modern plumbing fixtures, it would be useful to have a note in the rooms showing how they operated. This is a common concern with hotels.
Staff, location, comfortable bed. Excellent meals in the dining room.

Been to hotel before went back for the fab food but was told after booking a table and settling down for the night in an empty dining room that there was only a set menu on and a la carte wasn't ! Left to go elsewhere not happy at all !!!
The staff ... The location..

We booked a king size but got a double. The TV was broken so we had to move rooms, the second room was effectively a down grade but on the second night we moved back to the first room as the traffic noise started about 6am. One member of staff gave us the wrong times for breakfast and check out and there is no information at all in rooms. Some of the fixtures needed maintenance - the shower nozzle in the bath did not work, the bathroom door would not close, and the water is boiling with no warning which is lethal in the shower. Breakfast on day 1 was a combination of burnt or undercooked items. This is a real shame as it used to be a really great hotel, well worth the money just to be in the surroundings of the interior. Now shabby and badly maintained. Stayed here a lot under previous management. Wont stay again.
One member of staff was great, but she was leaving the day we booked out. The design and fixtures - but these are now fading and not maintained.

The noise both from the road and the nightclub and cocktail bar. The shabbiness of a lot of the building - needed repainting in most areas. The long wait at the front desk for the duty manager to appear. The cracked tiles in our bathroom and the fiddly shower control. Whilst the meals were served quite promptly our grandson had to wait for his as they'd cooked the wrong pasta... Long wait. The vegetables served with my main course on the Saturday were not as described on the menu and did not go with the meal. The menu was the same both nights. Wine list was extremely poor two reds, two whites and, I think, two pinks plus fizz. Staff all seemed to be from the local Uni and really needed proper management.
The staff were, generally friendly and helpful. The food was 'mostly' okay. There was off street parking. We stayed for 2 nights our family for one and our grandson was upgraded to a deluxe double - probably just as well as he is over 2 metres tall!

Woken up 4 times in the night by a burglar alarm nearby. Bathroom was modern but poor design - water spread from washbasin and bath.
Big, comfortable bed. Friendly bar. Good breakfast.

Very noisy. A lot of heavy traffic using the main road in the early hours of the morning. Added to this a bakers shop on the opposite side of the road with van drivers loading up in the early hours.
Large room/ suite. Staff friendly and try to be helpful, but a bit Fawlty Towers
