The idea of the room furnishing was good but in poor repair. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was tiny and full of mould. When we expressed this at reception they said yes it's due to be redone. Not any help to those staying in it until then. The continental breakfast was awful.

Friendly staff, lovely room, nice to have a gym I could use. Taps were wonky, window did not shut properly, lift was slow and quite scary to be honest.

I have stayed at the Raquet Club previously and was very pleasantly surprised the first time around, and therefore decided to forego the Crowne Plaza for this quirky, friendly hotel. The staff are excellent, friendly and pleasant without being intrusive, and our receptionist recognised me from my previous stay 6 months or so earlier, which was a very nice personal touch - she also had a great sense of humour ;-) I love the design and quirkiness of the hotel which is so far removed from the bland sameness of most "business" hotel chains and makes for a far more interesting stay. The beds are comfortable and the food great - I've not had dinner in the hotel yet but have breakfasted both times and the food has been really lovely, whether continental or cooked English. The price is also fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel for something a little different; very impressed and will be back again at my next stay in Liverpool! I would have liked to have seen some water and maybe snacks in the room, but recognise that for the price the hotel charges, it already offers excellent value for money and therefore this wasn't really a negative as such.

Stayed for one night. The room allocated was a good size, however was a bit concerned about an external air vent next to the room. The staff offered to move me, however the room offered had a smaller bathroom which looked a bit unloved. The hotel is well placed for Albert Dock, the shopping centre, Liverpool One and the Liver Building. It is within the business district, so the area was very quiet at night, exept for the seagull noise. A nice touch was the fridge in the room. Disappointed at only one milk carton with the tea and coffee, so walked to get extra milk to the local Tesco Express. Dinner in the hotel was excellent and the food was good quality. Breakfast was less impressive - cereals laid out, a tired fruit salad, but tea provided quickly. Would definitely stay here again as staff were lovely and welcoming. Tea tray had one carton of milk only; breakfast needs an overhaul.

Great location, helpful staff and clean rooms. Really basic room. Ours was very dark and small, and we had windows that looked out onto a small fire escape. Although there is a Sauna, it you have to fill in forms and let them know in advance if you want to use it so not really practical. The lobby was nice, but the room needs a lot of updating. Expensive breakfasts. We're used to staying in Liverpool a lot and this was the worst hotel we've stayed in for the same cost as others.

Excellent friendly staff. Lovely boutique feel to the rooms and friendly ambiance. The breakfast resembled a cafe fry up and it was £12. The food in general is not up to standard. The tv in my room was faulty. A little too cold in the rooms for my liking.
