Quality of bar menu and breakfast Friendliness of staff
As the name suggests this pub is near the railway and the mainline to Cambridge. Didn't bother me since its a good trade off for being so close to the station. There are rooms at the back which are I would imagine quieter.
The room was to hot and wi fi not working
Only stayed one night but would recommend, nice hotel and staff helpful and friendly
Everything that I required whilst job hunting in the area
Good location if travelling to Stansted as just a three minutes walk from railway station - first train is at 05:43. Rooms are clean and spacious and bar food is reasonably priced.
Our welcome was non existent -very dull manager on duty. Other guests were far too noisy late at night. Accommodation needs a major upgrade.
Nice big room, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff. Good location for our purposes.
The bathroom fan needs fixing. Didn't switch off when light was turned off. Had to turn bathroom light and fan on/off using the over-ride switch which can be out of reach for height challenged people. Wi-fi had to be hunted. Not always available so had to wander around to find somewhere to login. Nothing major that couldn't be overcome.
Friendly staff and good breakfast Sawbridgeworth is a charming village.
Not so sure about eating breakfast in pub but room but turned out OK
staff were very friendly, food was really nice especially the sauasges, overall a pleasant stay.
it was quite warm during the 2 nights I stayed there and could have done with a fan.
I mostly liked the location, as it was convenient when I used a train to London, and my family lives within 15-minute walk. The rooms were very clean, the place was quiet and it had a wide range of lagers and ales. Full English breakfasts served there makes you feel literally full for the whole day
I didn't find any disadvantages
Fantastic staff! really pleasant and helpful. Great location near the train station.
staff, food (really good vegetarian breakfast!), had a place to keep my bicycle safe at night, as a plus - there is an Indian takeaway nearby.
The room I had could do with a bit of refreshing, nothing too serious though.
The price The location was ideal for us
Very basic room. Bed was a little hard. Toilet seat was broken.
The helpful, friendly staff.
The thin pillows!
Location to close to trains
Very accommodating staff
Plenty of Car parking. Good breakfast. Good position
Very basic rooms. Bare necessity and no frills.
great friendly staff
noise from railway crossing
The location was good and accommodation. The actual hotel was clean and comfortable.
The hotel was supposed to give me a wake up call. They did not and I missed my flight to Berlin which cost me 110 pounds. Also, I was awakened at midnight by an alarm in the hotel. After flying from Canada all night and having to get up early in the morning to catch a flight, this was unacceptable on the hotel's part. My mother purposely booked this hotel after looking at several so I would be able to sleep well and be fairly close to the Stansted Airport for the morning. Unless the hotel compensates my mother for the expenses incurred, wecannot recommend this hotel. Both my parents will be flying over here the end of July for 3 weeks, so how the Railway Hotel handles this will certainly depend on whether they would stay their. My mother is an extensive traveller and will provide great reviews when they are warrented.
