Score from 310 reviews Very good 8.2/10
The location is fantastic, literally round the corner from Stratford station and Westfield shopping centre. The free parking was brilliant, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was very nice too.
The bed was a bit uncomfortable, and as there was a function going on in the pub it was a bit noisy (even on the top floor). If you just want somewhere for a pit stop this is absolutely ideal, if you were going to spend more time in the room I would go elsewhere
Ideally situated for olympic park and shopping.
The staff were extremely kind and helpful. I was down in LONDON to do an all day bike ride starting in the Olympic Park - the hotel was very well situated, the owners were very kind, even allowed us to leave the car in their car park all day whilst I did the ride.
Friendly staff Clean room
Friendly, Clean, Fantastic Location, Yummy Breakfast!!
Owners and staff are very friendly
Small rooms curtains, carpet and bed pillows were very old and dusty can't open windows because there's a lot of noise from the road-combined with the fact that there's no AC it's very hot and suffocating electric pump at the bathroom that makes a lot of noise disappointing breakfast, had to spend extra money eating out
This is a very friendly and clean hotel. It is a pub and it does not to pretend otherwise. The breakfast (included in the price) was a full English and was excellent. The rooms are not massive but big enough, with an un-suite shower, sink and toilet. The room is very well maintained and very clean. There is a TV in the room and plenty of wardrobe space. The hotel is a 4 minute walk from the tube which gets you into London centre in about 10 mins. The locals drinking in the bar were very friendly and chatty. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning to visit London for a couple of days.
There are no negative points!
we liked the fact that we could park our car on the car parking. we liked the outside sitting area. the vicinity of the public transport to go into town.
it was very hot during our stay, and it didn't get cool in our room, but this was a rare heatwave for London.
The room was much too hot !
All the staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Convenient location. Great transport links. It's near the Tube station and the Stansted coach stops very near it, which is convenient (to and from the Airport). Rooms are comfortable and clean. Lovely breakfast too. I'd recommend it to other travellers. I will stay there again on my next trip.
Just one little thing was the Wi-Fi. We couldn't connect to the Internet but it's only a minor detail. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and we would definitely go back there again for sure.
Friendly staff, good location, secure carpark
No aircon in rooms but when its 29*c we shouldn't moan really
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and nice. The owners make you feel at home at once and help you with everything. The location is very good !
The room we had was very hot and there was no airconditioning, therefore it felt a bit like in a sauna. If I would have payed less, it wouldn't be a big deal, but given that the hotel has 4 stars and isn't exactly what you'd call a budget deal, I would have expected a bit more... Also the breakfast is a bit poor given the price. If you want anything other than tea or coffee (cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate) you'd have to pay extra.
nice small hotel with very kind staff
1)The location is good near the underground and shopping mall. 2) The environment is quite. 3) The staffs in the hotel are very nice.
1) The cleanliness 2) The room is too small
Really friendly local owners, traditional old pub, good English breakfast, very near Stratford Tube and Overground stations. Comfy bed.
Nothing really - this place is a very good find.
Cleanliness. Very helpful & friendly staff.
No air conditioning.
Friendliness of staff, cleanliness, comfortable bed & very nice breakfast.
Free WiFi excellent tube and leisure facilities within 5 minute walking distance. Olympic park is over the road. Hotel can be seen from the station by looking nw from the walkway.
Room was good The olympic park and shopping centre was near
Breakfast too simple
Nothing was to much trouble
The staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was clean and comfortable. Food was adequate.
Grubby carpets, depressing décor, having to walk up two flights of stairs, scalding water, a toilet that made a weird loud noise after flushing. General air of shabbiness. Had to keep window open because of heat and traffic noise was loud. I would have felt better if this had not been rated four star as my expectations were much higher. This was three star at best. I stayed at a four star recently, it had a spa, lovely décor, extensive and beautiful gardens, room service, mini bar. Buffet breakfast with continental also. Can you tell me how this hotel managed to get a four star rating.
Good transport links. Good food. The Railway Tavern is within walking distance of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and a shopping precinct with scores of good restaurants and eating places.
The same shopping precinct closed it's doors at 10.00pm on the Saturday night we were there (we'd just come back from Wimbledon) and we couldn't find anywhere else local to eat. We heard the next day it had closed early as there had been an influx of young people from a local music festival.
- staff really friendly and helpful; I liked the personal touch very much; - breakfast was made fresh and for my taste plenty of choice (cereals, tea, coffe, fruits, scrambled eggs, ...) and cook even came out to ask if everything was OK -> great service! - rooms very clean - karaoke night on friday was big fun! so many talented singers - I'm really impressed :-) - to get to the next underground station Stratford 5-10 minutes to walk, so for our purpose connection to city center (about 20-30 min) was alright - we could leave our luggage at the accommodation until actual departure, thank you!
- WiFi was a little slow in the bedroom - but hey, I was on holiday, so I had a lot of time :-) - If you have light sleep and don't like to join the croud downstairs in the pub in the evenings you better look for a more quiet accommodation; for us it was the perfect choice because we like having a party and at 1 am everything was quiet - so let's be honest: who needs to go to bed so early? :-)
We stayed there for one night. The staff was really helpful, we felt comfortable and welcome at once. The room was clean and quite (although there is a pub underneath). We loved the shower, you can wash your hair easily with shampoo and conditioner (what is hard to find in London). You can borrow a hairdryer, adaptor etc. for free. We enjoyed a drink at the bar, watched the wold cup and chatted with locals.
On returning from a day out the tavern was in full swing and the very lovely bar lady, June, made the effort to make my request for a hot chocolate with Baileys in. Very much appreciated. Thankyou June.
It was the hottest weekend of the year so far and our room was unbearably hot and we didn't sleep. The breakfast room was very hot and put me off having breakfast on the 2nd day.
