The location was perfect, in a beautiful setting and yet convenient for Edale station, almost next door. Breakfast was served from 8am - 10am, great for a lie-in! Staff were friendly and service very good.
The TV was at an awkward angle on the wall to view from the bed, which could easily be remedied with a longer cantilever wall bracket.
Staff very pleasant, and really enjoyed our stay at the Rambler Inn. Location great and views from room were stunning. Would stay there again.
Staff always cheerful and helpful. Meals consistently good. Booked double room but was upgraded to king size room on arrival. Wonderful walking area Mam Tor and Kinder Scout practically on your doorstep !!
Staff made you feel welcome
WE travelled by train and the Ramblers was very close to Edale station. Lynette a staff member welcomed us in the bar and showed us to and around our cottage. At the end of her shift, she wished us a good stay and told us that she would be off for a couple of days. Excellent service. The food was very good also. All together a relaxing stay, that we would happily repeat.
The location is perfect for walkers, at the start of the Pennine Way. Good food, comfortable room. Will definitely revisit!
Room comfortable and clean. Quiet location. Excellent breakfast.
The accomodation was very spacious and had laminate floors so we were not worried about muddy boots or paws. The hosts were very helpful offering information on meals times and train information. The location is wonderful.
Located right next to railway station, in beautiful rugged country, this is a great location to base walks in the area from. The self-contained cottage was very well appointed with everything you need.
the food, the bear, the pub, the bedrooms.. etc...
i loved everything
Location was superbe. Ambience relaxed and welcoming. Room with good views to two sides, very comfortable and well appointed with a very nice bathroom.
staff very friendly and helpful, when we raised an issue with the room it was dealt with promptly
beds were extremely soft, but this can be a matter of personal preference and may suit others
Variety of vegetarian food. Location. Friendly staff.
Location Quality of breakfast
Location of room. Every time we opened the windows the room filled with strong cooking smells, (room 8 as I remember). Got locked out while sitting in the garden having a final drink & cigar at 10:25 at night!
good food. great beer. comfy, cosy room
Beautiful location comfy bed very welcoming/friendly staff very good breakfast plenty of tea/coffee facilities in room good sized bathroom
room was small very dirty/dusty behind and around tv. smell in room from kitchen was horrible, it was warm so needed window open. very noisy as we were above the kitchen, however once they had finished it was quiet, this was around 9-9:30pm. awful evening meal, I know they were terribly busy but when we came to eat the chicken tasted like it had been cooked and reheated in a fryer and the mash was from a pkt. don't know if they just ran out of ingredients and improvised but we didn't enjoy it or finish it.
The food the real ale family and dog friendly great as a walking base to see Edale staff warm and helpful
Minor issue but same all over area wifi signal only good enough for email
I stayed in a one-bedroom self-catering cottage in the inn grounds. The cottage has a double bed in the bedroom and a sofabed in the living room so it can accommodate a family of up to four. The inn's location is excellent, right next to Edale train station so you do not have to walk any distance if travelling by train. The cottage was clean and the facilities were good.
My only niggle concerned heating. In the cottage there is a hot water supply to the shower but not the sink, meaning that you have to shave and brush your teeth using cold water. Also, while the room heat would come on in the evening, the bathroom heater appeared to be inoperative. This was not a problem when I was there in the beginning of September but it could be a real issue for guests who visit in winter.
Perfect for walking around Edale
Excellent and very comfortable bed. Food wonderful, fabulous chef. Would definitely stay here again.
Staff very friendly and treated us like friends or family. Excellent choice of meals and drinks. Room very comfortable with super breakfast to follow in morning.
We loved everything about this place! The people, the facilities, the food, the views, the location. Faultless. So yourself a favour if your in London for a bit, take a few days out to hike and relax. You won't regret it! We wish we had stayed here the entire time we were in the UK.
Location is perfect for just minutes away from Pennine way and other fabulous walks. The staff were extremely helpful and made our stay very enjoyable
food was really good and reasonable priced. Staff were friendly and the hotel was both clean and comfortable
having to come home again!!
The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and remarkably quiet given the room was situated directly over a busy bar area serving top quality beers. Room 5 also had great views. The food, whilst not haute cuisine, was simple honest and good quality, and the menu had enough variety to satisfy all the family. The full English breakfast was delightful...other cooked options were available (but why bother!). Final, all the staff were friendly and hospitable. Overall a great place to stay.
