The stay at the triple room was very comfortable and shower was very hot. They were conducting renovation whilst we stayed the second night in the two twin room. The smell of paint seeped through the walls of the place and made it a very uncomfortable stay for me. I had to sprinkle baking soda around and put pickled garlics in my room in order to remove the smell. The food provided at the kitchen was plentiful but most were expired. Breakfast is not provided here.

generaly everything was fine. Booked as B & B, thought it strange that you had to make your own breakfast, but it was a well stocked kitchen, cereals, orange juice, bread, bacon, eggs etc. etc. Basically you could have as much or as little as you wished and it worked well.

Staff were friendly and it was conveniently located It was priced at the luxury end, but certainly didn't live up to this. The beds were lumpy and badly in need of replacing, no desk or chairs in the room and the TV was small with a freeview box (unusual). Breakfast consisted of access to a communal 'help-yourself' kitchen where you have to move through used crockery/cutlery left by other guests in order to prepare a very basic breakfast. There was someone else's used soap in the shower. It was reminisent of student accomodation, but at that price, I can't imagine many students staying there. There was additionally a problem in providing a VAT receipt and my understanding was that they were not actually paying tax on the income from hotel guests. As someone who submits claims for expenses such as hotel stays, a VAT receipt is essential and guests should be made aware of this in advance of their stay. In the event, the manager (owner?) who was very helpful, obligingly provided me with a VAT number that covered the Club downstairs, but gave me the impression that Inland Revenue might quibble about it.

At of £85 the price for what I got was grossly over charged. The room standard was very basic.in the shared toilet facilities out in the corridor, the toilet seat was broken, the shower door was broken and to have to serve myself to a very basic continental breakfast was far from the standard of a £85 a night room! I could go on but I am afraid my blood presure woud not stand it.

Shower cloffed with hair, would not drain and almost overflowed. Toilet would not stop running all night. Definitely not worth £90 for the night.
