Score from 10 reviews Very good
Shared bathrooms filthy, dirty towels on the floor and ear studs on the floor in the shower ready to pierce your foot. Flickering light not turning on in the shower made me feel I was washing in a derelict building, and razor socket defunct. Wifi requires registration with the cloud and signal was rubbish. Free breakfast is juice and toast or value cereal
friendly people on the staff
Food was very good and tasty.
Second day somebody took big towels from room and didnt put new ones, even i didnt ask to change towels.

Basic Rooms Mould in shower Breakfast Choice
Staff behaviour with clients
I did like the fact there was no problems regarding getting access 24hrs which was a great service
Good, clean budget hotel
Not having a en-suite (but, hey, you gets what you pays for)
Room was a good size and had a TV, desk area and tea/coffee facilities.
Bathroom was cold due to no heat in there - only an electric heater in the actual bedroom. Draughty windows. Breakfast could be improved with more options than just cereal or toast.
All the staff were extremely helpful, very pleasant, plenty of smiles, attentive and acknowledge when I entered and left the bar. Room was basic but clean and the TV worked, although the free WiFi was less reliable. I would definitely stay again I was in the area
We stayed one night in the Raven Pod, Its a really nicely set out samll chalet style self contained room with its own little shingle garden with decking. Very Clean and well equipped, Breakfast was adequate (continental) with option of cooked available. No noise from the pub (although we got in at 2am ) You don't have to go through the pub to get to it as you have your own entrance around the back, we would use this again.
Its unfortunate that the bottle bank is behind it as there was a little bit of broken glass and litter around but this did not reflect of the stay at all just would have looked better if it wasn't there...
Pleasant helpful staff Could "come and go" as we wished, which enabled us to feel at home straight away. We had the cooked breakfast included which was excellent; the continental breakfast was good.
Our room 101 was far too hot for me, given the mild weather, but I often find hotel rooms too hot! The showers werent very powerful with variable temperature - although shower nearest room 120 was much much better!
I booked there Deluxe Double, which is actually half a portakabin out the back of the hotel. It is tiny you cant even walk on both sides of the bed, the toilet is in a wardrobe as is the shower. The bed isnt actually a bed it is bits of softwood nailed together which as soon as you lie on it creak and groan all night. If you did get to sleep the POD is located right next to the bottle bank which the staff enjoy smashing every bottle they put in there. All in the place is a disaster, but i never seen the internal rooms i assume there better
Not much really Basic pub.
Location, Staff and the place itself
the noise from other guests and Thursday night DJ, due to the place being part of a very lively public house this affected on those who did not want to take part
The price was fair. Big car park. Beds pretty comfortable.
Racket in the corridors (people laughing, talking loudly and banging doors etc.) until nearly 2am, making sleep impossible. The whole place had a bit of a 'down at heel feel' to it. We didn't have an en suite (and I knew in advance we wouldn't have) but I expect any decent hotel to be automatically en suite these days. And the shared bathroom facility had no toilet paper when I went to use it. Fortunately I carry my own!
Rooms very clean, and the cheap price reflects the basic beds and lack of en suite.
Downstairs the pub has been refurbished - the hotel rooms are overdue the same. Breakfast was a headache - had to insist to get the cooked breakfast we paid for :( This is a fine place for workmen out of town - and that seems to be the main client base.
Beds Comfortable, Wi-Fi worked well, efficient, friendly staff
No en suite - but can't complain because of the great price!
Great atmosphere in the bar, staff are really nice. The hotel is good, rooms are clean and worth the money.
I didn't like the mattress it was either old or someone took the stuffing out of it.
The staff were excellent very good service and the food was superb
for me the bed was far to hard and didn't get much sleep
central to excellent fly-fishing venues like Rutland ,Grafham and Eyebrook. Nice bar and lounge area.
No en-suite. Water for shower and shaving barely warm.
Good wifi free parking good food on site
Bed hard noisy environment windows poorly sealing, let in noise and draft shared bathroom shower only ever lukewarm and not much power included continental breakfast minimal choice, plus 'self serve' toaster and kettle impossible to figure out how to use (several different parties had to ask to be shown how to use the machines)
Our room was right above the pub entrance, we could hear everyone talking outside, and they were smoking, and the smoke was coming through our window, we had to have our window open as it was so hot, but we couldn't sleep until the pub had closed and everyone had left
