“ It was very accommodating and the staff were extremely helpful. The food was excellent and the service very good. We had a large comfortable room with en-suite that we could not fault. We would certainly recommend The Raven Hotel to other family / friends that may consider visiting the area. ”

The Raven Hotel is set in the heart of the historic town of Much Wenlock. The 17th century coaching inn boasts a fine dining restaurant with 2 AA Rosettes, which serves a range of delicious dishes. All rooms at The Raven are individually styled with en suite bathrooms, and offer free Wi-Fi internet access along with a flat-screen TV/DVD player and Freeview channels. The Raven Hotel now incorporates the 17th century inn, ancient almshouses, historic granary barns and Much Wenlock's original forge, creating a truly unique hotel. Free private parking is available to guests in the hotel car park. Much Wenlock dates back to Roman times and has the famous 12th and 13th century Wenlock Priory, featured in the John Cleese film Clockwise, within a short walk of the hotel. The historic town boasts an eclectic selection of friendly, independent shops including booksellers, clothes shops, art galleries and an award-winning butchers. The hotel was good to excellent in all respects. We found it extremely relaxing and enjoyed our family room. We thought the food was a little expensive and didn't like the menu too much. But breakfast was excellent. We ate evening meals elsewhere in the town.

Location! Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed & well appointed room. Food very good. Shropshire Lad on draught is excellent! Some rooms are out of wifi range. Only a la carte menu available at weekends - £28 for two courses! Room decor was tired & very dark!

Very friendly staff looked after us very well despite having to cope with very severe snow. Pleasant room in fitting with the age of the property. Food and drink came to £40 per head, which is good for the quality. Interior could do with a little TLC in places.

Lovely warm welcoming hotel, excellent staff Bedroom and bathroom decor needed updating. Shower head too low down had to crouch to get full use of it. Meals of average standard

Quiet location in a very friendly little town surrounded by beautiful countryside. Comfortable well appointed room. Flat screen tv was a decent size but made a high pitched noise while on standby. Tiles around the bath need to be repaired and regrouted or better yet, replaced with more modern tiles.

Really well organised smallish hotel. Used it to visit Bridgenorth, Ludlow and Shrewsbury,which were fairly close, on 2 night stay. Evening meal excellent for price and service. Rooms we had were spacious/relaxing. We enjoyed our stay there. Staff were great. Not the hotel's fault, but Much Wenlock is a quiet small town. Not much to do at night, even on a Saturday. Bars closed very early, especially so Sunday. Mini bar would have been useful. All in all , glad we went....Maybe Bridgenorth or Ludlow better for those that like a bit more nightlife.

Location close to centre of delightful historic village, charming architecture and wide range of interesting little shops. Warm welcome at The Raven on a snowy day, roaring log fire in reception, also in restaurant. Dinner and breakfast excellent, room very well appointed. Classy establishment. Identical dinner menu both evenings, would have have welcomed some different choices on night two.

Staff friendly and efficient. Food of excellent quality and certainly not stinted as regards quantity. Generally comfortable. Our bed mattress was a little soft for our taste and caused some problem with a "dodgy" back.

It was convenient to Telford which is where I wished to attend an exhibition. I thought that the dinner menu was slightly limited in choice. There was no choice of steak or pork as I recall.
