Location ideal for duxford air museum which was the purpose of our weekend break. Near railway but never heard any noise despite being in a room at the front of the hotel. Staff very friendly. Suggest taking bookings for evening meals as when we asked we were told it was not necessary yet a lot of guests who were dining that evening complained as the service was very slow due to high demand.

Location next to the railway station was perfect. Food and drink was lovely. Service for Breakfast was quite slow and not enough hot water for tea, jams etc put out. Bedding was amazing and slept very well. Lovely quirky rooms even though quite small and risk of banging your head and tripping up. Had a leaky shower attachment on the bath which I told a member of staff about but it was still there the next day. Cold water tap was luke warm and hot water ridiculous hot! No clue on the taps as to what was what and when putting my hand under the tap drew it back very quickly as the ridiculously hot water comes out hot straight away.

Very good hotel however we were very fortunate to actually get a room given that Booking.com did not pass on our booking to the hotel. Restaurant food was excellent and well worth the money. Due to the limited room availability we did not get our request for a shower rather than bath so the shower was awkward as it was the type that you have to hold. The hotel was also very noisy with the wedding disco until midnight. Breakfast was disapointing, with poor service - we had to ask for extra items to complement the continental buffet that consisted of cereal, juice and hot drinks

Very traditional pub style hotel. Good food and clean rooms. Very pleasent staff. The rooms vary on size and as long as you like the quirky sloping floors (that you often find in luvley old buildings of this type) you will enjoy your stay.

Comfortable and lovely staff food was excellent. This is being a bit pickie but breakfast could have been set out a bit better, ie no juice cups and bowls and the staff had been over to look at table, but this is just a little thing which could make a big difference to someone's stay.

We found it was a well refurbished countryside coaching inn with a lot of character. All the staff were welcoming, pleasant and knowledgeable about the whole operation and they all appeared happy and proud to be working there. The only hiccup was over my main course on one day, which was the suppliers mistake. The problem was smoothly and efficiently dealt with to my benefit as I got the made to order Beef and Stilton pie which was my second choice and is highly recommended to anyone else staying. Reference other comments, our room backed on the railway line but we never noticed any noise. Overall a very fortuitous chance booking and we will be returning later this year. Many thanks to all the Staff and Management The en-suite facility was a tad cramped but then I am not exactly small and for the space available I thought it had been very well done, as a constructive comment I feel that an addition of wall shelving near or by the sink would be helpful.

The very old buildings (back from ~1400 centery I think) Rebuild in 2011 with all respect to the original design. Means very low rooms, and you must take cake of your head here and there :-) I very mutch like this kind of atmosphere. And the Kind and helpfull staff on durty at my stay. You must like the old style, if you select this Hotel

Clean and modern decoration, warm and good bed. Old pub charm, good food and choise of Adnams beer. Very quiet overnight so I had a good sleep. Very convenient for the imperial war museum at Duxford, where I was working for a few days. Staff very good and helpful. Breakfast was the full English and included in the price. Only minor point - if you were staying for longer than a few days my room had no wardrobe.

Excellent location for meeting next day, close to motorway. Breakfast good, clean and tidy hotel/rooms built to high standard. Arrived fairly late to an empty bar and not a warm welcome from the staff. They were in hurry to close bar and finish for the night. Bedroom was tiny although bed very comfortable. Room was up two flights of stairs, hotel appeared almost empty of other guests so would have appreciated more convenient room. Could not get wifi working at all. Staff in the morning were better although very much 'going through the motions'. Could be excellent regular stop for me but they could do with working on the customer experience.

A nice change from the identikit chains and it has had a major facelift, bringing it bang up to date. Extra staff in the morning would be helpful - the one staff member trying to take breakfast orders, deliver them and clear and simultaneously check people out was rushed off her feet!

Location - excellent for IWM and train to Cambridge. Hotel room was clean and compact. Quite expensive - breakfast should be included for £89 a night. Should number keys clearly we were in 17 but could barely see the tiny room number written in biro which resulted in us trying to enter the wrong room which could have been embarassing. Finally the tea/coffee in the room was not replenished and the tea we made the previous day was left in the teapot for the length of our stay.

The hotel/pub had been reopened for just a week after our stay. The room was really well done, very clean and comfortable and the en suite matched that standard. Once the 'fresh paint' smell has died down after a few weeks it will be spot on. I think it is a reflection on the fact that the hotel had only just re- opened, but breakfast was a bit of a shambles (not in the quality of food, but in terms of service). The two waiting staff didn't keep an eye out on what needed to be doen (top up of milk/Juice/cutlery/etc). We ordered 2 english breakfasts at the same time but only one came out (after a long wait), and we had an equally long wait for the other. I pretty much had to tell them how to do their jobs which wasn't ideal.
