The Red Lion is full of character, very comfortable and with great food. It is located in a picturesque village in easy reach of the Cotswold's places to see. The staff were great and particularly so with our dog who was a bit nervy on times due to being out of routine.
Nothing - it was fab!
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, my single room, though small, was very comfortable, the breakfast was great and the evening meals excellent. I'd definitely stay there again. Excellent value for money too.
Service was excellent and food amazing. A little pricey but no complaints.
Lots of charm, nice food (in very popular pub), beautifully decorated and have a personal touch.
Bad lingering smell in the bathroom. A residents lounge with its own fireplace would be nice. Probably result of restaurant being so popular with non-residents.
Excellent pub with fantastic staff. Really dog friendly. Superb food with a great range of beers.Lovely, cosy room.DJ the Dachshund loved it !!!! We will return !
top class staff extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent food served in good dining facility, good quality cutlery etc. Warm friendly and homely atmosphere. A thoroughly relaxing venue
Location to everything thats of interest to people visiting the area. The meals were good but I especially enjoyed the cottage pie.
Nothing, we enjoyed every moment.
We had a friendly welcome by Lisa and help with our cases. The dinner was great, tasty soup, home made fish cakes were lovely and to finish the pavlova was the best I have ever tasted. Good choice at breakfast and it was all freshly cooked. All staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was a little too warm for us, as Lisa explained they had put the heating on but it was still quite mild. The beam in the bathroom by the shower was a little low if you are any taller that 5ft. 5" Your need to be careful.
Comfy room, warm welcome, great food and drink.
Liked everything about it good beds room the staff were lovely and helpful
the food ,the staff, the management even the resident dog & the locals give you a big welcome, spotlessly clean, however if you want a table upon a sunday lunchtime book it in advance as the inn is so popular with locals that otherwise you will have to wait.
the rooms are very warm & it seems daft in this day and age to open the windows and let it all out, plus if you open the windows you get the road noise, the bathroom radiators in particular could do with some thermostatic controls to turn them down a little
Cosy and comfortable room with a fab selection of teas, coffee and biscuits. The staff in the restaurant all friendly and helpful. Our two dogs were welcomed and the landlord was genuinely warm and welcoming without being gushing. Great place, we will definitely be going back again.
Couldn't think of one thing to say against this lovely inn.
Great food and drink Friendly staff Lovely countryside location Lovely clean room (#3) Molton Brown toiletries Coco the chocolate Labrador Good Wi-Fi
Road noise at night in the front rooms. Ok if the window is closed. Not the cheapest!
Lovely old coaching inn set in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds which was perfect for walking. Made to feel very welcome with our small dog. Our room was very tastefully decorated and the handmade biscuits placed with the tea and coffee was a nice touch. Ate in the restaurant on the first night and couldn't fault the food or service.
Room was a bit small
The staff care was excellent, they were really friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was great too.
The only negative thing I would say was that the pub is located directly ontot the road so that if you have a room facing the road as we did you are aware of traffic noise, especially if you like to have the windows open for fresh air, but that is the only negative thing that I could say about an otherwise brilliant pub to stay in.
Very friendly staff, great food. Reasonable size room.
Warm friendly welcome, great food & dogs welcome!
Beautiful building in a small, attractive village. There is a large car park. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and professional and could not be faulted in any way. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with a lovely, large bathroom. The breakfast provided a hearty start to the day and was enough to see us through to the evening meal. We also ate dinner in the restaurant. The menu is varied and, again, the quality of the food, excellent. We would definitely stay again.
There is little else in to do in Long Compton although the church with it's ancient lych gate is worth a look. Our bedroom fronted to the A3400. Although this is not an overly busy road, what noise there is might disturb some people's sleep. It would be difficult to have the windows in the bedroom open at night for this reason.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. An excellent few days away!!!
Room very comfortable , Gardens lovely, Staff were very friendly, Molton brown bath and shower products very nice products, nice clean good quality towels , daily. very good tea tray and home made biscuits. lovely full breakfast. 50/50 good to be animal friendly ( pity about how far some of the owners took this ) dogs sitting on the chairs where people would be sitting...... a bit wrong .
small problems, no shower caps ? oily stains on head board behind bed , being a little bit picky but the menu could have been a little better choice wise ,
The staff made it! We took our dog and he was super welcome throughout. Beautiful decor. Super food. Huge breakfast! Lovely inside and out. Great location.
Friendly and welcoming. Good food. Nice room/bathroom.
The bed was so large there was little room to squeeze past the bottom to get round. The lighting wasn't good for bedside reading.
Staff and place are great. Love the rural ambient and quietness of the place
Couldn't sleep very well as people were walking on the top floor and making noises after 11:00 PM. Also, the toilet made a strange and loud noise when in use.
Staff very friendly and helpfull. Quality of food excellent. near Oxford and other cities.
When you enter the hotel/pub the smell of dogs and fish. it was only in the entry.
