The Room had a wonderful view of the river and was very centrally located. The Room was spaceous which was great for a family with two Older children. I felt this hotel is very overpriced for the facilities it offerred. The bathroom was very dated and the shower was poor. The Bath had mould on the Sealent and there was a yellow mark on the bath, which had obviously been there for ages. I would say to the staff at this hotel do not judge a book by a cover, the receptionist face said it all when we arrived. As a family walking the Thames Path from Goring to Marlow, we were dressed in walking books etc with Back Packs to carry our things. Because of our reception, we choose not to eat in the hotel, which we would have normally done, or not to have breakfast in the hotel. We did generally feel very very uncomfortable, anywere except our room.

Long wait to check in while staff were dealing with telephone complaint. Bathroom dirty -serious mold on shower curtain and bath. Constant slamming of fire door by room.

It is centrally located by the river, in the heart of town. A beautiful hotel - like living a few centuries ago but with the conveniences of a modern hotel. I loved it all.

Everything was excellent except one thing. Staff very polite & exceptionally helpful. Room lovely with good view of the river. Would definitely return! Pillows, may I suggest you contact Out of Eden, an Hotel supplier, they have wash & bounce back pillows which are heaven to sleep on especially for people with neck problems. Just a thought.

The location is excellent and the exterior of the hotel deceptively attractive. In contrast to Hotel du Vin just round the corner, parking is free. The welcome was brusque with full payment being taken on arrival. The restaurant was empty so, although tired from a long journey, we opted to eat elsewhere. On arriving at the dining room at 9.15 a.m. we were told that breakfast service finished at 9 - this at a hotel that is in a prime tourist location and whose clients are presumably not just business people.

Some staff were nice but that's about it I stayed for a week in October as I was on a course in Henley. Arrived on Sunday but they had no record of my booking, despite my confirmation. Eventually got a key to the room and it's old fashioned but just looks a bit tired and battered. Funny smell in the corridor that contains rooms 101-103, think it must be near the kitchen, so the smell seeps into the room! Shower poor too. Rooms are noisy. Had breakfast some mornings and dinner twice but the food was totally bland...absolute no flavour to any of it. The chef needs to up his game. Oh and get a new toaster as the screeching of it is so annoying for guests. The staff at breakfast and dinner were very attentive, just a shame they are having to serve poor food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is poor too but probably because no one else is dining! When it came to getting the bill at the end of my stay they didn't even show me what I'd been charged for, until after I'd paid! The bill had random stuff on it, for example a bar snack and something else that actually equated to breakfast! Come on, at least get the descriptions right. Overall as a hotel it's overpriced and I wouldn't stay again or recommend to my colleagues who will be attending courses in Henley. As a restaurant definitely don't go if you want food to taste of something.

Charging £5 for room service when your prices are already extortionate put us off ordering food from you. £13 for a breakfast when 2 mins away is the same breakfast for £4.99 is ridiculous.

Location Dirty carpet, no clock, no bathmat, no toilet roll holder. Small car park, no mention by the staff of a free public car park ten minutes walk away, free after 1400 on Saturday and all day Sunday. Had to go into the kitchen to get staff to attend the desk for checkout.

The room was large, clean and tidy with plenty of wardrobe space. The hotel is an old building with many quirky features. The breakfast wasn't explained to us on check in, therefor we thought we had booked on a room only basis. Reception staff didn't seem freindly or approachable. We were never asked how our stay was. The bar staff were friendly and very welcoming although the bar area was very quiet. On the day of our check out there was a mix up over drinks that had been charged to our room. Staff were very rude and when they were sure it wasn't us that had run up a bill there was not even an appology for the accusation. You are supposed to carry an identification card with you at all times it seems this is never asked for-hence the mix up over not paid for drinks-. This put a very sour ending to what had a been a wonderful weekend else where in Henley on Thames.

Clean room Close to Town Centre Being greeted by an unhelpful receptionist, who refused to hold onto our bags, whilst we toured Henley waiting for our room to be made available. Being ignored by the barman whilst concentrating on re stocking rather than serving. Minimal towels, pillows and complimentary bath products.

Location was really the best for us. We also happened upon the Olyimpic torch, so enjoyed that. Thought they could have offered window views to the guests! Rather cool staff. Did not really feel too welcome.

Breakfast finished at 9am on friday and so after a morning run we were to late and so had to pay £30.00 over at the Chocolate Factory. There were no peanuts or crisps available at the bar and on Friday night the staff were to pre occupied with some till discrepancy to serve the customers until asked. In room 403 we could not see the point of 2armchairs and a BATH! in the floor space particularly we have a shower , although there was no shelf or tray to put soap or shampoo on in it.A little table on the left side of the bed would be useful to. The over pricing of the rooms at Regatta weekend was obviously over the top as you still had rooms available, my rich friends said £750 "how much!".

It had a unique charm all of its own.The upgraded room overlooking the Thames (first floor) was excellant.Although there were certain things that were not perfect by any means they simpley added to the character. The Champage and strawberry upgade was well worth it too.

Lovely location next to the Thames, staff very friendly, hotel is very original and quaint. Rooms maybe a bit dated but we had a family room which was quite comfortable and perfect for our holiday. Rooms on the roadside can get noisy in the morning as the traffic picks up.
