location staff friendly clean
At back of Hotel very noisy some kind of generator going all night, Woken by dray men delivery. Mattress very Hard
breakfast location room size bed size
no parking noise from the lounge bed needs some tlc
Staff pleasant and helpful. Room comfortable and clean. Hotel well-placed for seeing town. Good breakfast. Will come again. Will recommend to friends.
Parking. A bit of a hassle planning picking up luggage when side-street blocked by traffic.
Breakfast was undercooked and flavourless
Good breakfast, good customer service, great location, can see they are marketing some great evenings and it's good value for money.
The décor in the bar is awful - brighten it up! The mattress was quite lumpy and saggy.
nice bar/breakfast area
problematic with parking
the hotel was situated in a prime position for access to all the amenities
There was nothing to dislike about this hotel. It was value for money
The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast service was really excellent with friendly efficient staff and a lovely cooked and presented breakfast.
The only downfall was there was no hot water in the room for a wash or shower but I would imagine was beyond the control of the hotel it was fixed for the next morning.
room over main road
The hotel was close by the quayside just a short walk down the street staff were friendly and helpful and room was very clean
The room we stayed in was really warm and this was in oct with no heating on .. there was a fan in the room which we needed on all night apart from that it was a lovely room
Staff were friendly Room was huge Food was delicious and very cheap
Parking could be better
We had the best time ever. The staff at this hotel were the best we have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble.Lovely hotel .Very clean and in great position for exploring Whitby. Will definitely be going back.
All the staff were very friendly and polite. Some reviews said that the hotel was very noisy in the evening. We stayed for the weekend and the hotel had a band on each nigh.We managed to get a goods night sleep on both nights and would not say that our sleep was disturbed by any noise . We had a fabulous view of Whitby from our window. The hotel is in an excellent location and only a few minutes walk from either the beach or railway station. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Good choice for breakfast and served hot. Also plenty of coat hangers and drawer space, also there was room to put our bags .
The bed was supposed to be a double, we could have done with a king size,
A good base for people who want a bed and a breakfast before a day exploring Whitby and its surrounds
The room was basic but lacked storage space and shelves required for anything more than an overnight stay
spacious and comfortable room, excellent food and in the centre of all the activities in Whitby.
Clean and cumphy
Great budget hotel right in the centre of Whitby, the rooms were spotless and a really good breakfast with plenty of choice.
The staff were very helpful breakfast good rooms spotless
The location was a bit of a hill for anyone with mobility problems
Hotel could do with a revamp, as could the rooms
the location was very good for visitors to Whitby, skinner street and the area around the hotel is very good with quirky shops and great places to eat and drink, away from the bustle of the obvious tourist attractions in Whitby.the staff were very good and most helpful, and dealt with a couple of issues we had efficiently, the room was basic but very clean
the parking in the surrounding area is an issue now due to recent parking regulations being introduced ,but that's not the hotels fault.the hotel is tired and needs upgrading and breakfast although nicely cooked ,was small !!
It was near the station and having the lift to the room was useful after a long journey. Pleasant shower room with good shower but with no towel rail or any shelves for storage. Adequate breakfast but the sausages had a very strange taste.
Not much of a welcome at Reception; a bit better from the breakfast staff the next morning. Very little atmosphere and the room had no chair in fact only bed, wardrobe and bedside table. The mattress was not good quality. Very disturbed night from much noise and crying in the corridor.
Great view, bands on, cheap drinking. Nice room.
Breakfast. This was only ok. Not hot enough and only just cooked on both days. Needed a man size breakfast but was only adequate. On arrival, check in was poor. Had to drag the guy on the desk away from his personal viewing.
The hotel location couldn't be better and we had live band entertainment on both nights of our stay. Breakfast really nice and our room very comfy. Great view of the Abbey and harbour!
Location, basic cleanliness and the quality of the breakfast and service
The reception area isn't very welcoming and the overall decor needs updating, or finishing off
Location, quality of room, breakfast, friendliness of staff
