Nice pub, lovely room, friendly staff, nice breakfast, free wifi, good shower, all very clean
Being woken up at 6am by hovering in the pub under our room, furniture being moved around and the cleaners speaking loudly outside the door before 7am
The restaurant staff in the evening were excellent. Food was good and a cold dish was soon rectified with no problem. Wines good and prices fair.
Breakfast was slightly disappointing as the cooked food was served on the toast and this soon went soggy. Advice to ask before you receive breakfast if you prefer toast served separately. Room was clean but windows cracked and paintwork dirty. Restaurant ones were sparkling however.
Very nice comfortable family room, very clean. Had everything we needed and a great breakfast. Would stay here again.
Lovely room, very clean, beautifully decorated and furnished. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom....and that shower......!! Forgot my shampoo so used theirs - made my hair all silky-soft! Staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Bed sooo comfy - just climbed in and dropped right off. Would be very happy to stay there again (would LOVE to sample the evening menu next time!) Many thanks to all the staff - you work extremely hard, and it shows!
Couldn't find the car park! The instructions were a bit vague, so we parked out on the street - plenty of spaces. We only stayed one night so no probs with storage but if we were there for longer, that might have been an issue - not much in the way of drawer space etc. Hubby didn't like the bathroom shelf - perfect position for hitting with forehead!! Apart from those little niggles, it was smashing!
Food really good, Blue moon beer excellent! pleasant staff. lovely shower gel and bodywash supplied!
A bit noisy especially at 05.30 am when they start cleaning the bedrooms.
The food was very good ..The rooms also a good size ..service also good ...
We didn't like the fact we were kept up late and woken very early with TV from next room..plus my parents room was very noisy so had to be moved..plus many Noise from traffic with windows open..
friendliness of staff, food.
our room was extremely clean except for the window which was covered in cobwebs?.
Great Staff, very comfortable place to stay. Good food! Small village gem! Must be great because plase was always busy but still time to cater to you needs. Easy place to stay!
Ordered Fish and Chips two times for late lunch but kitchen had run out! Nice problem to have if your the owner but not as a guest. It just goes to show how busy the Resturant is. That in itself says a lot.
Service was great happy to help and accomadate any problems, Great Breakast, Great Location , Clean Tidy and Well equipped rooms
Wi-Fi Service could have been better
We especially liked the ease of check in and the helpfulness of the staff. We were very impressed with the size of our room and bathroom.
It was quite noisy from the pub below which you would expect on a Friday night, but the room ( no 1 ) also had a loud droaning noise which seemed to come from under the room that went on all night.
Comfortable and clean. Large room and bathroom. Great location. Wifi. Friendly staff.
Room not dusted and vacuumed everyday.
Generally what we expected. Good comfortable room with ensuite, excellent evening meal.
Good ambiance, varied menu with well cooked dishes, period style bedrooms , friendly staff , its popularity with locals as well as visitors adds to the atmosphere
Price of 'special' gin at the bar--never paid £7 for gin and tonic before--lesson, always ask the price before you buy
Location general impression good basis for a profitable business good breakfast and excellent bar beer etc
Staff using next room noisy late at night. Some minor issues on cleaning such as light fitting repairs not cleaned up
Welcoming pub hotel good food good beer good quite accommodation we would recommend it.
Nothing to dislike
Parking, accommodation, bathroom, dining room, the real ale and the reasonable price. Also, the way in which the hotel has retained the character of the building as it expands.
The fact that the staff were dog friendly and we were accommodated beyond our needs. It was like being at a friends for the weekend.good quality furniture and wonderfully succulent food . The manager was lovely
Nothing. What's not to like!
very helpful staff delicious food comfy beds
Breakfast was amazing. Great pub, nice room, huge bathroom!
Had to duck slight;y to get from bedroom to bathroom! Adds to the character though!
Informal atmosphere, good food, friendliness.
Being accosted by the housekeeper, in public. Being the subject of conversation between the housekeeper and a paying guest, in public. Being verbally abused by the housekeeper, in public.
Wonderful sense of history in modern comfort.
Gorgeous room which I think was bigger than our house! Staff were friendly once you got their attention. Location was ideal. Breakfast was lovely. Wifi connection was strong despite all the people in the pub.
Room was very noisy until quite late (after midnight). Despite having an allocated parking space, someone else had parked it so we ended up parked on the road.
Helpful and friendly staff. Welcoming to two small dogs.
The Richard Onslow was right in the centre of Cranleigh, close to buses, trains, shops and restaurants. Deep in the countryside but easy to get to surrounding areas.
The only thing we weren't happy with was the platters that we had one evening. They were very sparse for £14.50, and past freshness.
We booked again having stayed in February 14. We had quite a long journey to Cranleigh and wanted to arrange a meal for our arrival. Ben was outstanding, calling us to check our expected eta, and ensuring that we would have a meal on our arrival, and ensuring we were looked after throughout our stay. Thank you Ben. We asked for room 9, which is a Mews House we had had previously, and were not disappointed. The room is well equipped, comfortable and clean. The en-suite shower room is spacious and the toilettries are very good. We stayed 2 nights, and ate at the pub on both nights. The quality of the food served is exceptional, if a little pricy, but highly recommended. There is an extensive wine list and cocktails. We would definitely book again if work takes us back to the area.
