Mark & Can, very flexible. Great hosts.
The welcome. Owners were so helpful. They gave us good advice, room was pleasant, bed comfortable.
Room was very nice and bed comfortable , we had a superior room which was very nice . The En Suite was good too , very up-to-date , both room and En Suite were very clean ... which I was pleased about !!! Breakfast was okay too . Location was good , just off main shopping precinct , and near to bus and railway stations . Caz and Mark the proprieters were friendly too .
Would have liked another chair in room , as one of us had to sit on bed .
I like the relaxed atmosphere
Cant say there was any
i like the location of the hotel its in walking distance of the town and plenty of shops , the room i stayed in was a lovely size for one person, remembering the 2 steps up to the shower room the shower was a nice size with plenty of hot water, even thow the bed was low it was very comfortable ,
being woken up from the early preparation of breakfast , dishes pots and pans being moved about, the bed being a little low for my arthritic knee .
location and cleanliness
set time to book in all arrived at same time. en'suite facilities in our room(small and basin in bedroom)
They out themselves out for you and make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Had a single person double room (room 8) and really would be too much for 2 people to be in there. But they said they were changing the lay out of the rooms as know it is a small room. Parking is not really possible at the hotel but plenty of parking in front if it.
Very clean . Location just off high street so good Food good Owners very nice people.
Shower not very good to regulate Sink in toilet very small.
Warm and welcoming hosts; nothing was too much trouble. Close to beach and shops, so able to walk to both. Rooms cleaned daily and clean towels on a regular basis.
Parking was limited, so worried about getting a space. Dodgy flush in bathroom which didn't always work effectively. Room was hot and stuffy at times as only 1 window opened.
Good food, an excellent breakfast.
En suite toilet smelt all the time, shower and toilet was very cramped!
Location Value for money Great breakfast Clean room
Room a little small
Position of the hotel in Shanklin. Special teas were made available for my wife both at breakfast and in the room. Very Friendly
We cannot fault anything at the Richmond. Mark and Caz were excellent hosts. Cleanliness was excellent, food quality and choice was superb. Parking is available as well as a place to store keys. We will be back!
The hosts, very welcoming and attentive. The bed was very comfortable. The room, and other areas, extremely clean and tidy. The whole experience was better than most hotels we have stayed in and paid a lot more for.
Couldn't get one of the bedside lamps to come on and a chair in the bedroom would have been handy but this is resorting to nit picking as there was nothing of any significance that we didn't like.
Excellent breakfast and friendly proprietors - highly recommendable.
Bus stop too far away. Unaware of discounted ferry tickets - ended up being very costly break due to Old Gaffers Festival weekend.
overall good b&b in great location
breakfast selection and timings parking arrangements
we liked all about the place, we had all we needed, breakfast really good, service great, our hosts made it really nice and it was always clean and tidy, parking a little hard but they did the best they could for you, would go back if only for the breakfast and friendly welcome.
The owner Mark and his partner were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice too.
Checking in at 4pm seemed quite late although Mark was gracious enough to let us store our bags there so that we could go to the seaside.
Plenty of hangers and drawer space. Helpful staff.
My Apple iPad could not get wifi. Disappointed
High standard of cleanliness.
The cook breakfast was good selection but poor quality ingredients and no fresh fruit.
The owners were very accommodating and friendly and let us check in very early as we had to get out of our muddy camping gear and into our smarts and out to a wedding by 11am! Breakfast was good, location is brilliant.
The room was a bit on the small side, but no major complaints
Friendly and welcoming, couldn't do enough for us, saved our holiday after the caravan park experience
There was nothing to dislike other than we couldn't stay longer
The room was comfortable although a bit of a squeeze between the wardrobe and the bed and the shower room was a reasonable size with a great amount of hot water. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very welcoming. All in all a great place to stay.
It would have been nice if when you first look a the place it would say to contact the owner about ferry tickets. By the time Marc from the Richmond emailed to say they could help with our ticket we had already booked at an over the top price of £147.
Excellent place, very welcoming couple, superb value for money, parking can be a problem but they fitted our car in fine. Good location, clean neat tidy, wouldn't hesitate to recommend, will be returning on our next visit to the island.
Can't fault the place for the price we paid.
