Good location & free on street parking close by
Noise from other guests that seemed to go most of the night
Good location, price
Could feel all the springs in the bed - maybe time to update the mattresses? I stayed in room 6
I was made very welcome the staff cant do enough for you it was close to city centre excellent value for money lovely local pubs etc
Accomodation was comfortable
Noise and conversation coming from the restaurant late into the night.
Room was falling apart wall paper hanging of the walls
-cleanness -location -views -pubs in the area -friendly(ish) staff
-size of the room (incredibly small) -smell of Thai food in the evening (there is a Thai restaurant in the basement) -the bread in the breakfast was rotten!! -the mattress was very old and with no protector, though the manager of the hotel told us that the mattress was only 4 months old and it had protector (both were not true). We could feel the springs in our backs, which was a handicap as it limited our trip so much (no proper rest, no proper walk the next day). -We tried to avoid as much as possible coming back to the hotel. -Wifi did not work in our bedroom. -Towels were ripped -bedroom was not very well vacuumed. -and worst thing: THE CENTRAL HEATING WAS NOT WORKING and it was -2C outside, although they provided us one electric radiator. WE REALLY LEARNT THE LESSON. We will book never more at this hotel.
Cheap and cheerful place in a decent lactation
Have a restaurant but don't do cooked breakfast?
In easy walking distance from the train station. Was very cheap for Edinburgh. Clean enough.
Tiny room, made smaller by the red & black décor. Dining room very dark. Reception downstairs and not easily found on entering the building.
Location, easy to catch sunrise and sunset which is extremely beautiful
Light in the room a bit dark
Awesome place to stay. Couldn't fault a thing. Will definitely be back.
Nothing at all to fault.
Location was perfect for our needs
About 20 £ per night was ridiculously cheap as everything worked better than in most 4 star hotels: Room was clean and warm, shower was working and location was excelent.
There was traffic noise, but there almost always are if hotel is near central.
Adorable room, with lots of amenities. Comfortable bed! Staff was super friendly! Located next to a bus stop and lots of stores and restaurants.
Very handy at the base of Carlton Hill. Good sized room although bathroom a little cramped. Large mugs provided with the room tea/coffee station. Glad to have a firm mattress; would have been even more comfortable if we hadn't been able to feel the springs! Some noise from reception desk right outside, but not intrusive; quiet overnight. Enjoyed the discount off the Thai restaurant. Good range of continental breakfast. Happy to keep luggage until later when we checked out, making our last day's sightseeing more comfortable.
Breakfast coffee rather over-stewed and no refills offered. Tea was a much better bet.
Location Room cleanliness Shower
Breakfast (very basic we only had it 1/3 mornings cereal was stale) Plugs in room consisted of 1 in awful position No chair in room No bath mat Noise from restaurant and street (but can't be avoided)
Closeness to Playhouse and Omni Centre was ideal. Friendly staff.
A little attention needed to cleanliness.
Great location Ok breakfast Very warm rooms Good value for money Would recommend
Bed was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on
The staff are so helpful.
One bed in the room wasn't comfortable
basically i liked everything about this hotel the location & value for money is excellent beds are fresh & clean .hotel staff are very helpful & friendly decor however could do with updating but this is a definate value for money & will definately be booking again well done keep up the great work
decor could be doing with updating but i mean only the wallpaper in the rooms the entrance & dining room are very classy i really didn't not like anything about this hotel
there was a proper large en-suite with shower over bath so you had choice of both, room had 4 single beds, there was tea & coffee making facilities & TV, time of breakfast was good, you had key for outside door for returning in evening
the room was cold, it was a basic continental breakfast in the morning
Value for money and location are spot on.
For the price, you can't really complain about anything. But breakfast, thin walls, dim lighting, erratic hot water/tv signal/wifi signal could be better....
Very handy for the town, comfy beds big rooms, nice staff
Bit noisy,traffic noise
Ideal location, friendly staff a great all rounder..would defo return next time I'm in Edinburgh .
Would have liked a cooked breakfast but can't complain.the price was excellent value for what you did get.
Dirty room, dust everywhere, web cobs everywhere, cold and very drafty from the window, breakfast is very basic, just cheese, there was no even ham, tea is very weak, mattress very poor quality,
Quiet room towards the back of the building. Location good for the theatre and city centre. Inexpensive budget hotel. Did not try breakfast so can't comment.
hotel a bit tired looking and could do with an update. Free wifi did not work at all. No receptionist available during our stay - 3 nights in December.
