Riverside was fine though not 5 star.Friendly staff
No bad experiences, just not quite as we expected given the rating.
Friendly staff Room was one of the cleanest we have stayed in Evening meal/Breakfast were excellent
The room was great, the bed was huge & extremely comfy! Very nice breakfast and overall a very nice place to stay.
The staff are so helpful and friendly and go beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The location is great as we looked out of the window the scenery was fabulous. The absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast. We went all out and had the 'Maxi' and they certainly delivered. Delicious!
Unfortunately the bed was a little uncomfortable.
The atmosphere and approach of the staffing team
There wasn't anything I didn't like.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, beautifully and sympathetically decorated, heating worked a treat in this cold weather and the food on offer was varied and tasty. It was a pleasant surprise to be this well looked after out of season and to stay in a place that is so old yet has all the comforts one could wish for. The staff were very welcoming. Can't wait to go back.
Lovely location. Close to all shops, pubs etc. sound of river outside the window. Breakfast excellent in lovely room.
At the end of corridor. Felt a little a too far from fire exit.
. room warm and comfortable, food magnificent.
no lounge area. toilet opening directly into dining, room, used by staff including chef throughout evening. residents entry hall/office shabby and unwelcoming.
We lovedeverything. The room was very comfortable and had a spacious bathroom although we would try to book a room with a bath next time. The food in the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner was excellent with great service. The location was perfect for us - peaceful and picturesque
Great location with pretty views .
Hand held shower in bath.
We were upgraded on arrival to a room at the top of hotel. Very friendly staff. Lulled to sleep by the sound of the river rushing past. Breakfast was completely waiter serviced. Good choice for breakfast and food well cooked. View of the river from dining room window.
The hotel dining room was closed in the evening ; a pity as the menu looked interesting. Wi- fi only worked sporadically in one area of the room.
A proper shower! Hooray! Very good bed. Excellent position in town. Very good breakfast, generous and tasty. Loved the little restaurant overlooking the waterway. Stayed in room 9. Recommend it.
Shower area could be a little bigger in room 10 according to our son and daughter in law, who were in that room.
As always a very enjoyable stay, breakfast very good, room lovely and clean and a great nights sleep....bed very comfortable. Will be back soon!
Most of the staff were very polite and helpful
It was on the internet as five star but is not up to that level
I liked everything! We would stay at the Riverside again. Hopefully sometime soon
Would rather of checked out at 12 rather than 11.
Atmosphere, staff helpful, pleasant & friendly- welcoming.
Comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Great breakfast. They also serve dinner, but call ahead..we arrived late and they were booked up and the meals looked really good. The town is quaint and the harbor provides a beautiful walk to the sea.
Not a problem for us, but there are narrow stairs to go up.
... Excellent evening meal ... Central location
... parking - having to remember to keep topping up the meter
Breakfast great- Bed V. Comfy - Room Spacious- Loved it all....
Would have given 110% score if shower cubical was a bit bigger....
Meals were outstanding, river views and sounds very soothing and peaceful.
Room tiny, pokey, nowhere to place baggage. Shower tiny, unable to wash hair without banging elbows on shower walls.
The fair quality of the service was compensated by the quaintness of the town
Poor wi-fi service; unprofessional service stuff; indifferent attitude to customers
Welcoming, comfortable bed, Accesible to high street.
The room was too far too small for 2 adults. It was not the space of double room for what i was expecting. Its not a double room, put double bed in the small room with little shower/toilet room with sliding door!!! The power shower was not quite working well. (Low pressure) No wifi in the room(room no8) at all. Even though on the web says wifi is available in all areas. We were able to use wifi only in lounge/entrance area. this was not being mentioned by until we asked. Struggled to find a parking space.
Location. Food. Excellent Staff.
helpfulness of staff, delicious fruit salad at breakfast, great location, plenty of milk, plenty of tea and coffee in the hospitality room trays, large bathroom, nice towels.
the date of the building and uneven floors meant that we could hear people moving about above us
Staff attentive without being annoying, food superb, and room clean modern bathroom comfy bed.
