The place is in the best location with the canal outside your door and the Lock, there is always something going on to watch.
We arrived already reading bad reviews from the internet and they were correct. The rooms only got fresh towels changed, the rooms were made up and rubbish was not emptied. The last day Breakfast was not served till after 9:30 due to the chef turning up late, the breakfast was cold and not cooked as requested. This place has so much potential, with the rooms being cleaned up to a better standard and the staff trained in hospitality then they would be spot on.
Terrible athmosphere in the room. Everythink feeled damp. The hotelkitchen was direct behind a second, looked door in the hotelroom. Very noisy! Breakfast just after nine! Terrible place! I was happy to leave the hotel early at the next day
The single member of staff who was barman, waiter, receptionist and general factotum. The fact that the room was cold and didn't have a functioning lightbulb, the mouldy bathroom the ridiculously bad value breakfast.
Towels & bedding clean. Breakfast second morning good. Well placed to visit Bath & Bristol.
Room not very clean, squashed fly on ceiling, dirty down side of single bed complete with panty liner!. Very dirty round windows/sill.Toilet didn't flush well. No milk available for hospitality tray - had to keep going to ask for jug of milk at bar. No hairdryer or plug socket & mirror for dryer or hotbrush ect. Breakfast food choices unclear - apparently either fruit juice or tea/coffee & if you had cooked breakfast choice you couldn't have cereal or toast.
The Location was lovely. the staff were very friendly.
The room needed a little bit of TLC. The walls had unpainted plaster on them and it was rather cold. The Tea and coffee making facilities hadnt been refilled.
Location. Very good evening meal with good service.@
Booking that u were supposed to have made was not made. So we were in a different room. Bed was awful. Chef not in til 9.30.am.
noisy, few employees, we had to wait 1 hour for breakfast
food was lovely! clean staff were great rooms were comfy good location for bath and bristol
rooms could use a facelift and be made more sound proof as adjoining stayers rise early and disturb. Also towels rail and toliet roll holder was close to coming off the wall
Windows so dirty you could see out of them. The room was full of cob webs and spiders. One of the windows was broken. There was no hairdryer in room. The "free wifi" as advertised, didnt work, even though we complained about it. At breakfast the cutlery and mild jug were dirty. The tv in room didnt work properly, and everytime you turned it on the volume was at max, which woke the baby. No phone in room to call reception. No one in reception until 9am so there was no one to speak to. Wooden floors needed cleaning. Room well over priced big time.
The staff were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble.
The price was good and the room was clean. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. It is in a nice quiet location by the riverside. Would stay again
Our first impressions on driving up to it was that that if looked like a dump. We were very tempted to just drive off. The paint work was very shabby and the place looked run down and ruff - somewhere you would avoid. Don't let the first impression put you off
Very friendly staff. excellent food
The room was adequate only. Bit dated
We loved our room it was a little way from the river but this didnt really matter as it was super luxury! Food and staff very good, young adults but super helpful, so thank you.
Location was great, next to the river Avon and the lock. There is also the lovely village of Saltford within easy walking distant and a walking/cycling track that goes into Bath.
This Inn is in desperate need of maintenance. While the room we stayed in looked to be new it came complete with tons of spiders! Everything needs a good paint and clean! Wifi very hit and miss mostly miss. Go up the road to the Bird in Hand to eat. We will not return!
Great Location. One of the rooms had comfy Beds. (The other didn't) Breakfast was nice & was served until 12.00.
Room was alongside beer garden & the other wall was alongside bar - so not very peaceful given the lovely location of the hotel. The bed was quite hard & the mattress old & lumpy - without even a mattress cover - almost like you'd get in a student house. (Although we did have 2 rooms & the other room had a nicer outlook & both beds in the other room were great. Strangely enough, both rooms cost the same). Had to be out the rooms by 10.00
Good location easy trip to bath or bristol. The carvery is excellent value for money. Friendly staff.
Couldnt get breakfast on a sunday morning till 9am so had to miss it.
Breakfast choice was great and tasty, easy parking and location next to riverside was lovely.
Room had no tv remote, was told they'd find one - never saw him again. Had to change tv channel by standing on a chair to using sky box on top of wardrobe. Room smelled damp, so had to keep windows open - bins located outside window plus beer garden so was noisy with drinkers. Also located under a dining room so constant heavy chairs sounded like someone moving house. Walls between us and other room very thin, could hear tv, talking and snoring. Mattress lumpy and dipped in the middle. Don't tend to moan generally but really, I'd avoid room 1 or 2 if you want a restful time! Also managers night off and was told she won't come back in!
Nothing besides the fact that it was relatively close to Bath.
Hotel room was disgusting. Not clean. Not good value for money whatsoever. Considered leaving on the first night. Felt unsafe.
Comfortable beds and good quality shower and bath. Location on riverside is very attractive.
No hairdyer, no hooks in bathroom to hang towels, blackout curtains needed and mouldy single glazed window- could be noisy on weekdays/Saturday nights. Limited breakfast menu - can choose only cereal OR cooked breakfast.
Very nice staff and place right next to the river Avon. Good breakfast and service. Comfortable and spacious room. Highly recommended.
Everything was ok. Maybe the low water pressure in the shower.
