The rockford inn was fantastic. Everything you could ever ask for in a countryside inn. Warming open fire. Friendly staff that cant do enough for you. The food is out of this world. We even had pies to bring home. Superb. Perfect weekend of relaxing and walks. Defanately staying again soon.
Best place to go for nice relaxing cosy weekend with lush view and amazing food to eat near woodfire..just perfect!
The owners and staff extremely helpful and kind. Food was absolutely fabulous. Vegetarians catered for fantastically. Tranquil and peaceful and near great attractions like Lynton, Ilfracombe and the moors.
View from window (bedroom at rear of property) but not in room for much during day and dark in evening so didn't matter. Would definitely stay again but ask for room at front for view and sound of river.
Excellent food, own ale, proximity to the river and Exmoor countryside. Very clean, spacious room with great shower. Log fire, space to put muddy walking boots and dog friendly.
No reduction re hot water issue on second morning, although were apologetic.
Wonderful short break, idyllic location and very welcoming, accommodation and meals excellent. A very good base to explore the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this 17th centenary pub. We will return and would recommend to anyone.
Nothing on this stay.
warm friendly reception excellent food quiet location beautiful scenery
The route to the hotel
am amazing location beside the river a perfect spot for walking and enjoying the best that nature can share. a very warm welcome matched by the cuisine.
Clean hotel. Delicious food.
Told we could only have a table to eat at 6 or 6.45 and when we got into bar there was only one couple there and it did not get busier than 3 tables eating
I think my scores above say it all
Food was a very high quality, Peaceful surrounds Good area for walking Proximity to Exmoor and Lynmouth
Room 3 was the smallest I have ever stayed in, feet pushing against a small cupboard all night. I am only 5'8" tall. Cupboard would only hang 3-4 shirts and no other storage available. No bedside cabinet, kettle precariously balanced on a small shelf, shower and toilet I could not move in although I managed to get a fair nights sleep. Could not get a cat in the room to swing it. I know that the double rooms are bigger and that I was a solo traveller I did not expect this for the money I paid, I did not consider this good value for money.
The surrounding very peaceful but in easy reach of coast. Staff very helpful, food excellant will definitely book again
Location, evening meals, atmosphere, ales, friendliness
That I couldn't stay longer!
We found the quality of food, breakfast and dinner to be excellent. Kathryn and Sarah were very helpful, the walking great and the real ale a joy.
there was no mobile phone signal from any provider.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and very approachable. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The Inn is in the most beautiful setting and well placed for amazing walks. All this along with great food and cask ales .... What more could you want? Can't wait to stay again.
brilliant location, friendly staff, very good food
room was a little small, but i am quite tall !.
Perfect place to stay if you like lovely scenery, nice walks, good food, real beer and cosy very clean accommodation. Had a fabulous stay and will definitely be returning. Lovely friendly staff. Breakfast was particularly good. All this for a very reasonable price.
Nothing apart from not being able to stay longer!
everything was in my opinion superb from staff, accommodation, food, location and comfort. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Returned homed feeling very relaxed after a good break. Many thanks
I cannot fault anything.
The peace and quite location was great for walking outstanding views . The Rockford Inn you could not fault .
The location, good food, real ale.
Getting in and out is a challenge with precipitous and narrow tracks and bridges!
Great food in the pub downstairs! Very nice hosts!
Food was exceptionally excellent, very friendly staff, very quiet and beautiful location. Good value for money.
The small rooms are small and the shower was only adequate. No bath. However, the room was beautifully decorated.
Location in a beautiful setting, friendly staff, great choice of food, just wish we had longer there
Stayed for 2 nights. Loved it. Ideal quiet getaway with lovely walks literally on your doorstep. Great food as well.
Lovely secluded location, good size rooms, tastefully decorated. The food in the restaurant was good quality and very enjoyable as was breakfast. Proprietors were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely reccomend a visit.
