The character of the hotel and staff.
Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff, nice feel to the place generally
Courteous and friendly staff sensitive to needs of guests.
Location and restaurant
Great ambience, very comfortable, a bit like being 'at home' in a large house. Fantastic outlook to the rear 10 acre gardens. I will definitely use again.
Sound insulation in the walls of the Courtyard Mews accommodation is a bit then.
Peaceful room & location, staff very helpful, good breakfast & Meal.
A lot of stairs to a 'room at the top'!
Staff very helpful, we left a pyjama top and when I rang the next day the staff located it and posted it back to me. Very grateful.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and therefore very difficult to find we got totally lost and very nearly missed the wedding we were attending!
We were there for a wedding but found it all a bit disjointed.
Superb location. Very clean and comfortable room. Olde worked castle like mansion, beautiful grounds. Pleasant & helpful staff. Had a great time!
Liked it all!
I loved the location and the atmosphere. The staff were dressed up as elves and there was a visit from Santa. It was a magical stay over the festive period. The food was lovely, the warmth of the log fire, the hospitality of the staff and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
There wasn't anything to dislike!!
As I have family living nearby I wouldn't normally use a hotel in Rothley, but had volunteered to make way for other house guests attending a wedding. Another wedding party was in full swing at Rothley Court during my stay. I found it a relaxed, comfortable and charming place for a couple of nights and would have been happy to stay longer.
Mobile phone reception is poor locally although that's not the hotel's fault and staff ordered taxis for me.
The bed was so comfortable I need to get one the same for home. The food was excellent, breakfasts absolutely wonderful with a brilliant choice. The staff were so nice especially the lady who has been serving breakfasts for 8 years, she is always there when we visit.
When we were eating our evening meal, loads of children from the wedding party that were staying were running riot all roung the dining room, the noise was appalling, somebody should have been controlling their behaviour, did spoil our stay slightly.
Beautiful old building, great setting, lovely room.
Paid extra for superior room, which was directly above a disco - had we known, would have paid less and had quiet room in annexe. Also, scrambled eggs at breakfast probably worst ever had.
the room was nice views lovely, tea and coffee with biscuits. secure lock on th e door adequate safe parking.
no lifts for disabled family
The wonderful character of the building which is almost 1000 years old set in rural, secluded grounds. The attitude of the staff was exquisite. They were polite, helpful and courteous at all times. Nothing was too much trouble. They obviously enjoy their jobs as they are a pleasure to talk to. The bedding was extremely good quality and the breakfast selection (included in the price) was great.
We considered not staying at this hotel due to previous reviews but the reviews that we read turned out to be completely false. We are very pleased we ignored these, as our stay was excellent. The hot water problem was due to a boiler break down and the floor boards do not creak as much some more recent buildings which use plasterboard and chipboard as opposed to wood panelling and stone.
Attentive staff nice surrounding good food
Dripping tap in the bath signal for Internet in and out
A beautiful hotel, in lovely grounds. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean, comfortable rooms with a good supply of towels. Second time we've stayed and won't be the last!
Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast catering for all tastes. Pleasant room. Super looking inside and out.
Wifi in the annex quite poor.
The location is beautiful set in park land with grazing horses and beautiful gardens. The hotel is listed and it oodles character. our room was in the main house and had lovely views and was tastefully decorated. Can't fault the hotel at all.
However the menu and quality of the food let it down. I had to send my turkey roast dinner back as it came with clotted gravy all over it and was Luke warm...it appeared to have been warmed up and not fresh. No chef would ever let anything so bad leave their kitchen! It was off the Chefs Special Menu too! They did apologise and redo it but the damage had been done. We ate out every night after that. The breakfasts were good but cleaning staff kept walking through the restaurant whilst we were eating with their buckets and mops! Not good. A beautiful hotel ruined by some carelessness by the staff. Such a shame.
The food was excellent as was all of the staff, who gave great service
After changing rooms twice as the water was cold, and the 2 rooms that did have hot water ,the colour of the water was Yellow!!!! Not good.Told it could be due to road works. However I wasn't going to shower or wash my teeth in it
The food was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable bedroom. Good facilities.
Noisy toilet flush in annex rooms. Could hear neighbouring rooms on and off throughout the night.
Setting is lovely. Had our wedding reception here 20 years ago and it still has the same charm
Would expect complimentary toiletries for the price and a mini bar in the room so quite disappointed
Friendly staff and food was excellent.
Decoration needs update in bathrooms and carpets
Good size room. Well appointed bar. First rate breakfast with plenty of choice to suit just about everyone I would think.
Having to go outside to main hotel building for the dining room. Could be rather a nuisance on a wet and cold winters' day.
