Staying in the main building.

No shower gel in bathroom.

Location and grounds were very attractive.

Very noisy, thin walls. We were kept awake by a wailing drunk from a wedding party. The food was poor. I was given a burnt omlette at breakfast which I returned & they produced another burnt one. Our evening meal was poor. Such a shame that a historic building in such lovely surroundings has been so poorly managed.

Gardens

Incorrectly charged and still waiting for credit 2 days later.

Rothley Court is in a perfect location with the River Soar at the end of the gardens at the rear of this picturesque old baronial manor house. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfasts consist of everything one desires. I cannot fault the place and shall certainly return here again.

The grounds and main building were lovely

1) Not enough staff. Reception seemed to have to cover the bar and deliver food. 2) Tried to call receoption from my room about a faulty lock and there was no-one there 3) It was not made clear that there were no breakfast service before 7am. I had to leave for business at 6.45 so have paid for B&B without the breakfast. 4) When I went to check out at 6.45, reception wasn't staffed and no one could check me out. I have since tried to call - never any answer, have sent an email, still no answer, in order to get a receipt. I am concerned about the amount they have put on my card as I was not there to sign it off and can't get hold of them.

Generally needs uplift decoration tired and shabby particularly in the Annex . Staff uniforms were scruffy . Window frames rotten and unpainted,No attention to detail in service and upkeep, such a shame as this old house and grounds has so much potential Slow service at the bar needed more staff whilst wedding was on

Fruit flies everywhere in bar and restaurant

No remote control for the tv, asked reception staff but did nothing about it. No plug for the bath, no toilet brush either. Wait staff on evening shift could smile more as he looked very bland!

Courteous, friendly staff both in the hotel and restaurant areas. Clean and comfortable rooms.

A problem when the central heating system kicked in at 6a.M. The incredible noise was like being in a machine workshop.Sadly it could not be fixed during the weekend but I am confident that it will have been dealt with now.

On arrival very picturesque setting.

Foo in evening was awful, breakfast ok. Room very tired, allegedly 115 pounds. I wasn't happy at 65. Don't book here

Handles missing on room furniture some figure marks on hotel doors. Breakfast eggs uncooked

The area and the old part of Rothley Court, being the main building and reception area. The dining staff/waitresses were good. The food was very good value.

Shortage of wine Being put into the more modern building Fire alarm going off at 7am on Saturday and not being told what to do by the staff! We followed procedure (not many others did) and were just standing there not being told what to do. Towels not clean.

The location was excellent, there was ample free parking, the hotel was picturesque and quiet, and good road links were nearby.

The carpets leading into the accommodation block were grubby and looked like they hadn't been shampooed in ages, and the Wi-Fi was inoperative.

Food is great!

Shower didn't work. No hot water in my shower.

A vaey attractive venue with lots of history.

The bar closed quite early for a wedding reception, particularly when a large amount of the guests where staying at the hotel.

Atmosphere & friendliness of staff

Meeting held in the room next to my bedroom ( mine was room 3) meant that I had noise in the morning which defeated the ideal of a leisurely check out time - I felt like I was in the middle of their meeting! The hotel felt generally tired and could do with investment in maintenance to bring back up to scratch - e.g. duct tape sealing woodwork round windows!

We stayed at the hotel because we were attending a wedding there. We got a great price and the hotel pulled out all the stops to ensure the wedding was a success. The choice of breakfast (which was included) was outstanding.

We were staying in the furthest room in the annex and although it was well presented, the dampness all round the window wall let it down. Got to say though it didn't spoil my experience with Rothley Court Hotel one bit.

Glasses & dirty pots left on our table all night.Had to contact bar staff as no one on reception to check in.Would have been nice to stay in hotel rather than annex.

i requested room with view and i rang to check that i would be staying in main building, when we arrived we were put in a small dimly lit annex room accross the car park, i do not feel that the accomodation justifified the same full price payment as a room in the main hotel
