The bed was comfortable and the room contained all you needed although it was very small. We were given a code to get into the front door after hours so we could come and go as we please.
The customer service from the staff was poor. We were told breakfast would be served until 0930 but when we arrived for breakfast at 0920 it was completely cleared away, shut down with no alternative offered. Staff were not particularly helpful. Bathroom and shower space is exceptionally small, best not to stay if you have mobility problems!
Position of hotel
no chair in room and TV a bit small to see from bed. Shower hard to control and poor flow
Box room Too small
Parking on site. Price paid Four Posts bed. Free Hot chocolate and coffee. Wireless and lots of plugs in the room. Ironing board and iron
The service was great, got more than was expected, would definatly stay again.
The manager helped with all issues that i had.
I couldnt fit my kettle because it was to large for the sink. But after telling the manager he kindly gave me some free bottles of water to fill up.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
first night, no hot water in shower. Staff kindly moved me to another room. On a couple of nights a lot of noise from downstairs, sounded like a band rehearsing. Car park tended to be full during the week evenings and night with trades men's vans and trucks. Room was rather cold.
bar area, food ok.
being sent to the red lion because rothwell house had double booked. No bathroom No Wardrobe single glass window , with hole in
Close to town
Car parking hap hazard
Location WiFi Friendly Linen clean Breakfast
Bed short Room tiny TV miniscule Shower small and high step into it. Bathroom smelly Curtain and rail fell on top of me General appearance Vans all over car park
Staff not sure of what they were doing. Room was filthy. Carpet had not been hovered. Bread crumbs on side table and under tea/coffee tray. Hanging rail missing from wardrobe. No mirror in shower room. Toilet seat broken. Water only just luke warm. Shower head bracket split and would not hold shower head. Staff washing/cleaning cutlery in lounge. Very noisy fan started at 0700 both mornings. Room 7 was a disgrace
Good location. Adequate room.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing - some items burnt. I was charged twice and still have not been refunded.
Awful mattress, no mattress protector, thin sheet, bedding generally very worn. Thick dust behind bed and generally poor cleanliness. Shower inadequate ... Slow trickle
No excuse for dusty, dirty room
When I arrived, the bar and restaurant area looked really nice, but the room fell way behind that.
The booking was lost. The room I was given was huge, but the shower and bathroom was disgusting. Just in need of a major overhaul. The shower was covered in Mold.
Final room after two very poor rooms, was acceptable
Very poor housekeeping, shower disgusting in first room, outlook poor for a bunkhouse, next rejected room ,wet room had flooded half the bedroom area carpet, not just this once, manager in differant to problems.NO Quality control
Easy to get to, bed comfortable, staff friendly.
Single room far too small and too expensive for size of room Not enough parking spaces in car park Wifi poor on top floor Breakfast staff very disorganised, long wait to get served and no breakfast before 8am.
It was a nice stately place to stay with chandeliers, Yes I would stay at the hotel again and recommend it to friends
I got the feeling that there were rodent detectors being used in the building. I believe smokers use rodent detectors to hide the smoke when they smoke in rooms.
This hotel, caters mainly for contractors, and is not suitable for business people, solo travellers, and deffinatly not families.car park is full of Contractors vans, and a car cannot get in because of this. rooms smelt of contactors,,,and visually appear grubby will not use again
will stay there again sleeped sound did not here the contractors vans outside my room going in the morninings
Staff and honestly I have nothing else to say but I need 200 characters minimum for this box so I hope this is enough typing.
Lots of noise from main road (shabby peeling single glazed window), too much light let in at night from the streetlight, stained duvet and carpets, bathroom was very old (had better at uni), staff never around but when we found one they were helpful, car park was very poor, £45 a night is not worth it, no customers ever which is a bad sign. Also got over charged when they billed me without me being there and I wasn't happy with that, plus it meant it made me overdrawn and made the trip much worse. They did refund me but took 3 days.
The bed and tv
The noise from outside
Nothing - don't go here Nothing - don't go here Nothing - don't go here Nothing - don't go here Nothing - don't go here Nothing - don't go here Even if free
Everything. All the things you'll see if you read others reviews wrapped up into one bad experience. Drains smelled so bad in on-suite, like raw sewage we couldn't brush teeth or have shower. We had to waste expensive perfume on pillows to even put up with it in the bedroom as the air freshener they used to try to mask the smell made it worse smelling like a morgue - we couldn't complain as we came in late having checked in earlier before room was ready. Tried sleeping facing away from en-suite but curtains too thin to keep bright lights out from car park. Walls paper thin so disturbed every time someone came in or out or spoke. No bedsides - we improvised with ironing board and disabled shower chair. Kettle too big to fill from small sink. Electric sockets broken so didn't dare turn TV on, light shade broken, shelf broken. Couldn't open windows securely as ground floor (no 27) and no safety catch. Car park too narrow so disturbed by people doing 10 point turns to get out during the night. Ignored when we came for breakfast. Fresh fruit was so old it was shrivelled, coffee was like water with sediment. One of our breakfasts was half cooked eggs and overcooked cold beans, tinned tomatoes, no mushrooms, no brown toast. Tray dirty, waitress touching hair and face then glasses and plates. Management clearly don't care and staff seem to have to do multiple jobs and none of them properly. I could go on but we don't believe it will make any difference so don't go there.
Breakfast good value. Bedding clean.
Room very poor. Ironing board in room which seemed positive but we needed it to put the kettle on, couldn, t put on the floor because electric sockets were too far off the ground.only one light working in the bathroom and soap dispenser had fallen off the wall.
staff worked hard low morale.good food motivated but seems to be a high turn over of staff little training or support .location good
the rooms were dusty.carpet had iron burn on the carpet . rooms smelt musty the staff were over worked and not listened to by the owner.kettle did not fit under sink to fill up .no complaints procedure room had changed from the one that i had provisionally booked
