Easy to find in the centre of town. A lovely lady in the kitchen eventually gave us some breakfast including fresh coffee and toast. We liked that the beverages in the room were fair trade and organic etc. I asked for a room with a bath as I am disabled and had driven a long way...yes we had a good bath but NO TOWELS!!
No towels in the room. We were so tired after a long drive and our room was far away from the reception and no phone in the room so couldnt have a bath. My son had a shower and dripped dry. Went to get breakfast before we left and we were told rather curtly to get up earlier if we wanted breakfast (it was only 10am). I had already paid for 2 breakfasts so I asked if I could have my money back. It was refused. Luckily a younger lady came out who understood what the phrase 'service with a smile' meant and we got a cold breakfast with coffee and toast which was perfectly adequate. I wouldnt go back because I dislike rude people when Im paying to stay somewhere who ruin your day before it begins. A bit fawlty towers but without the humour. Thank you kind young lady who gave my teenager breakfast and me coffee before we went on our way. Didnt dare mention the lack of towels! Tip: staff training and get rid of staff who scare your customers away. Meet customers needs by carrying bags upstairs if you dont have a lift. Little kindnesses mean a lot especially to disabled people who struggle with these things.
From a single I have been given a triple with easy access to the smoking area. I was also offered a complimentary drink meanwhile the room was sorted out. Hotel was very busy for the Valentine Special. All was good. Simple basic and cheap price. The staff has been very professional and accommodating.
We was put into an outside disabled room with no wifi, we booked a twin room where 3 singles were crammed in the room, the tea making facility was on a stained shelf, 1 set of towels for 2 of us was only provided. The carpets were heavily soiled and too dirty to walk on without footwear. the bathroom was dirty and the shelf to put toiletries was stained. I have photographs of the room and I should get a refund
Location. Car park. Cheap Price. Staff very professional. Late night check in. Iron / board available and I needed it.
Toilet dirty and I mean hard faeces. Bleach or toilet cleaner would have done the trick. Electric heating worked but midnight when I checked in the it room was freezing.
Breakfast and location as village has good eateries.
The bathroom was partially blocked by bed head and to didn't work
dinner and bar
long way up to top room
agressive manager; he called the police when i complained about no internet connection. no parking place for the car, i had to walk with heavy suitcase. heating system stopped at 10pm, temperature dropped to 14°C (I have a thermometer for my desease, so I am sure of what I claim). bed sheets were with hair (as well the sink in the bathroom and the towels) I dont recommend
Liked the low, last minute price obtained through here (significantly below hotel's usual rate. At the price paid, it was fair to good value. Staff friendly, helpful. Building quiet and well situated for town centre amenities
Very uncomfortable 'cheap' seeming mattress, not designed for normal adult weight (I'm 12st something)
Everything, they moved our rooms then tried to ask for more money Never stay here!
Conveniently located for my journey with a reasonable selection of dining options.
the carvery was okay. Meat selection could have been better.
hotel clean, room very small but clean and warm. nice bar area. staff friendly. very good price for my single room and adequate for my overnight stay
I have no complaints at this price point
The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
When I first went to my room, it appeared to be 'new' but there was rubbish in the bin, and a used soap in the bathroom. Although the bed was made up, I checked inside and there were hairs on the sheet. However, as soon as I mentioned this to the receptionist, I was given another room.
Codwebs. Gap in window frame tha mattress spring s all poking out so uncomfortable basically dirty hotel noisy staff iffy toast no butter then come out with hand full of butter in her hands no plate never again
Great location as we had a family event in Rothwell, great breakfast
The en suite could do with a make over
The bed was comfortable and the room contained all you needed although it was very small. We were given a code to get into the front door after hours so we could come and go as we please.
The customer service from the staff was poor. We were told breakfast would be served until 0930 but when we arrived for breakfast at 0920 it was completely cleared away, shut down with no alternative offered. Staff were not particularly helpful. Bathroom and shower space is exceptionally small, best not to stay if you have mobility problems!
Position of hotel
no chair in room and TV a bit small to see from bed. Shower hard to control and poor flow
Box room Too small
Parking on site. Price paid Four Posts bed. Free Hot chocolate and coffee. Wireless and lots of plugs in the room. Ironing board and iron
The service was great, got more than was expected, would definatly stay again.
The manager helped with all issues that i had.
I couldnt fit my kettle because it was to large for the sink. But after telling the manager he kindly gave me some free bottles of water to fill up.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
first night, no hot water in shower. Staff kindly moved me to another room. On a couple of nights a lot of noise from downstairs, sounded like a band rehearsing. Car park tended to be full during the week evenings and night with trades men's vans and trucks. Room was rather cold.
bar area, food ok.
being sent to the red lion because rothwell house had double booked. No bathroom No Wardrobe single glass window , with hole in
Close to town
Car parking hap hazard
Location WiFi Friendly Linen clean Breakfast
Bed short Room tiny TV miniscule Shower small and high step into it. Bathroom smelly Curtain and rail fell on top of me General appearance Vans all over car park
Staff not sure of what they were doing. Room was filthy. Carpet had not been hovered. Bread crumbs on side table and under tea/coffee tray. Hanging rail missing from wardrobe. No mirror in shower room. Toilet seat broken. Water only just luke warm. Shower head bracket split and would not hold shower head. Staff washing/cleaning cutlery in lounge. Very noisy fan started at 0700 both mornings. Room 7 was a disgrace
