will stay there again sleeped sound did not here the contractors vans outside my room going in the morninings
The bed and tv
The noise from outside
Breakfast good value. Bedding clean.
Room very poor. Ironing board in room which seemed positive but we needed it to put the kettle on, couldn, t put on the floor because electric sockets were too far off the ground.only one light working in the bathroom and soap dispenser had fallen off the wall.
Nothing. Not even worth one star.
The booking was for a double room, but when we checked in, we were given a single room. After complaining, we were given two single rooms. My bed had a hole in the side, no bedside light. In the morning the electricity was out, and the shower could not be used, as the steam would set off the alarm. A dreadful experience . There was no breakfast, as the kitchen was not staffed.
Sunday lunch was good. Chef was helpful and friendly. Location OK.
Insufficient staff, had to wait for everything or find staff. Stairs and landing not hoovered. Toilet didn't flush properly. Bed dipped in middle.
The young staff were enthusiastic, hard working, keen to please and unruffled despite pressure of work. Breakfasts leave you loaded to the hilt and the evening meals were satisfying, full - so worthy we went back a second night. Yes, will happily return. Excellent value.
The decor upgrade already showing great progress in restaurant and bar needs to continue in stairwell and rooms.
Squeaky floor boards. Breakfast took too long to come.
HUGE breakfast. Comfortable room, in a converted large house of some character. Nice situation near centre of the attractive country town of Rothwell.
Couldn't find the booking clerk on arrival. Once that was sorted the other staff were excellent.
One member of staff. Downstairs restaurants and bars are newly modernised and decorated. But nobody was eating in the restaurant on a Saturday night. Great Indian restaurant across from this hotel.
This Hotel is dated and tired. The photos don't represent the condition of the rooms. Paintwork is shabby, the stairs carpet hadn't been hoovered in over a month. The carpets were stained in 2 rooms we looked at. Noisy at night although we were in the back. Other residents were fighting and arguing with foul language. Toilet seat was split. Bathroom shelf was loose so couldn't use it everything slipped off it. Quilt cover was old & faded and not sure it was fresh on. Mattress was soft, bed squeaked & creaked. There maybe other rooms that have been modernised but not the 2 we saw.
Everything, the worst Beeing filthy rooms, we di'nt even spend the full night in the hotel as the rooms so bad.
Inhabitable, absolutely disgusting.
comfortable clean bed
Breakfast cold, no glasses, no cereal bowls and poor service
The fact that the bedroom and shower room were dirty
Good central town location, close to shops, bank etc... Excellent staff, good food. Comfortable room with all facilities. Clean room. Check in and check out no problems.
Good Location, good surroundings. Good and helpful staff. Pleasant looking Hotel.
-Lack of cleaning on the room floor underneath the beds (looked like it hadn't been cleaned for 1 month; -Low wifi reception in our room (to be fair it was the furthest from the reception); -One of the rooms from the "apartment" was very small and the lights weren't working properly and the door locked it self from the inside and there was no key to open it from the outside.
The bathroom wasn't clean, the kettle only worked if you held it down, the TV didn't work at all. The pillow was so poor that I had to put my clothes underneath it to bulk it out.
Friendly staff quiet as I slept well...ish
not being able to open the window
my room no 28 was located thro the car park at ground floor level. it was also a disabled room, the carpet was heavily stained and the curtains failed to shut out the daylight, but my biggest issue was the lack of ventilation. If you opened the windows they were immediately adjacent to the ground floor car park area. They lacked any form of secure restrictor stays. So you either had the choice of insecure ventilation or windows shut with no a/c it is not acceptable
staff very helpfull and food good
very small room, window would not stay open at very hot time, expensive for such a tiny room, could pay same at premier inn and have large luxury room
There was no chair to sit on in the room No bedside cabinet or bedside light. No telephone. No light control from the bed. The small chest of drawers opened on to the bed end.Television was computer monitor size. No toilet roll holder on the wall. Only one towel in the room. No coffee packs to make a drink, only two teabags and a chocolate pack. Nobody acknowledged my presence when I went down to breakfast. It took nearly 25 minutes to get my food. The food was very poorly presented and of poor quality. There was no menu, and nobody took the time to run through what was available. The best thing was the tea!!!, Definitely would not recommend this hotel and very much over charged at 60.00 pounds.
Clean and comfortable.
wifi was rubbish and they couldn't cope with us wanting to leave before 9am
Interesting old building, very quaint. Helpful staff. Breakfast was exceptional. The
The original allocation of room, but was soon altered after I said it wasn't suitable. Would have been difficult if the hotel had been full though.
Friendly staff Good breakfast
Terrible shower Uncomfortable room
Breakfasts were very good.
Not enough parking for guests. Fire alarm went off at 04.30 am, it was a false alarm.
