room size comfort, breakfast bathroom
The Royal Hotel is centrally located by the harbour and near bus stop for Glasgow busses. Good bed and exellent smooth sheets + good pillows. Also towels were nice and soft, and the shower was good (both pressure and temperature). Good breakfast.
Lunch and dinner are rather expensive, but a big plus for keeping the restaurant open even during the low season.
spacious rooms and comfortable bed, decorated to high standards. Friendly staff, great location. recommended especially for leisure trip
wifi did not work all night, which was a big problem as we were here for work.
Staff were really friendly and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The Haggis Nachos were amazing and our Hogmanay getaway was perfect!
Staff were superb Room quality was outstanding Food and drink of a high quality Great value for money Location was terrific
Residents bar was 6 miles away.........!?!?! Crazy. Wi Fi woeful £3 per day extra charge for.......???
Sewage smell in room very nasty on two occasions
This was the largest, most luxuriously appointed room on our five night Scotland trip. We stayed in Campbeltown specifically to tour Springbank a few blocks away, but another couple we talked to were there for access to the Islay ferry about 15 miles north of the hotel. We stayed in room 32 with a beautiful view of the local port and water. Campbeltown is small enough that you can easily walk anywhere in the City Center in minutes. We visited one other pub and two other restaurants, but the hotel pub and restaurant seem to be some of the nicest in town.
Very comfortable room
All of it particularly staff helpfulness
Silicone sealant in shower tray needs good dose of bleach
Clean and newly fitted to a high standard
Breakfast was dried out from over cooking
Modern and well maintained. Food was very good. Good selection of whiskys. The view across the harbour in the morning.
High quality room, very comfortable.
Room was too warm.
Great location to explore a wonderful area on natural beauty. Lovely comfortable & clean rooms Excellent food The staff are absolutely brilliant, friendly, helpful, you just can't fault them, great people.
I had to come home
Good Hotel, Great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms
Location excellent. Hotel is beautiful and staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious, beautifully appointed and quiet. One problem was the hospitality tray kettle and hairdryer plug. They were under the dressing table and you had to kneel down to get underneath to interchange them.Small point but worth noting.
The food standard was not, in our opinion, befitting of the hotel and was expensive. Curry, no flavour except red pepper. Cooked breakfast quality was poor. No flavour in the sausages and bacon had bitter taste due to chargrill. Poached egg was raw on one occasion! Ate out at other local hotel, including breakfast on our last day! Very disappointing as it was a special anniversary.
Welcome. Staff always friendly and helpful. Good food. Good view. Cleanliness.
No tea and coffee top up in the room. The quality of the breakfast sausage was a let down.
Food very good except bacon slightly under done for me.
Bacon slightly under done for me
Excellent location at the harbour. Friendly & informative staff. Excellent food & service. Fantastic Scottish breakfast. Huge room.
We liked the Black Sheep Pub, the food in both the pub & the grill were good value for your money , generous portions. We went to the sister hotel in Macrahanish called the Ugadale hotel on Sunday night for our dinner. There is a shuttle bus that takes you there &eco mess back when you are ready.
I didn't like the fact that I had to watch the Ryder cup on my iPad. As the hotel did not have Sky tv.
Most everything. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful
Having to get a new password and user name for the internet each daywas rather annoying . Would be nice to get that and be done for the entire stay
Lovely hotel. Good breakfast. Staff very helpfull.
Quality of room was excellent, bathroom was very well finished, shower was fantastic, the food was very nice, breakfast was good and the Stella was very nice!!!!
The central area. The spacious room. The food. The friendly staff. All very good.
