Food location and staff
Room on the top floor good job we are fit as there is no lift
Helpfulness of staff.quaint ,central and historical environment.centrality of location.view from room.parking.
Ground floor bars lacked accessibility for residents due to being busy . Restaurant menu limited .
very friendly and welcoming, not just to us but our dog
no lift, stairs are a bit of a problem
The food was excellent and the bed was very comfortable, although small.
Attic bedroom, all the stairs.
The staff were mostly helpful.
I was travelling with my elderly mother and our allocated room was the "look out". The next morning I asked if another room on a lower floor was available - yes, and had been vacant the previous night............ Words fail me!
Location Food in restaurant very good Clean and comfortable Excellent location
Unable to really appreciate the facilities as stayed during regatta week. Bars were very crowded and busy so unable to get in! Room was very small and cramped.
great location, good food, friendly staff.
Parking can be an issue. Double check where your car is the morning you check out. And the time limit.
Many very friendly and helpful staff. Formal dining room ... food excellent, well cooked and beautifully presented. Less formal bar meals but equally well prepared. Old hotel with charming atmosphere, yet very modern bathroom ... perfect.
No lift No car park at the hotel, but staff were able to take your car to their own car park (a little distance from the hotel) then return the car when required.
This hotel is set in a perfect location on the quayside in Dartmouth. The room we had was spotless and well equipped and the staff were very friendly. Only had breakfast there but it was superb. Maybe its a little pricey? Not sure but I would certainly book there again
Rates could be a little bit more reasonable.
Great location; great service.
The stairs and food
The bed was too soft in room 32
Service and location
Lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely room except we had the too room and it would be no good for elderly people, also very noisy seagulls and a very noisy clock which chimed every hour! Obviously it's not the hotels fault In either case! You can double park outside to unload your luggage and a nice young man with park your car
Nothing apart from the noisy clock and gulls
Location superb Staff friendly and helpful Breakfast nice
This hotel is not suitable if you have a mobility problem and unable to walk up stairs.
The attitude and helpfulness of staff The breakfast The room The car parking and retrieval service is second to none The position could not be better
Being on the fourth floor with no lift was a challenge but I was worth it I suppose The seagulls are super noisy when you are on the top floor
All the staff were very friendly and helpful excellent food clean and lovely location told friends who have since been and enjoyed as much as we did thanks
Staff were friendly professional and attentive. There were nice little touches and atention to detail in the room/bathroom. The carvery meal we ate in the Grill Restaurant represented great value for money. The hotel's attitude appeared to be one of "can do" .The valet parking worked well for us. The Building itself oozes character at every turn. Next time i will book a room with a view of the river Dart!
Not cheap, but in this instance you get what you pay for a "quality experience"
We were given the top room facing the river (27?) and the view was fantastic! We had recently got engaged and the staff left a card and chocolates in the hotel for us, which was a really nice touch. The breakfast was tasty and the location was great for the quay with lots of good restaurants nearby (Rockfish - posh fish and chips featured in the Good Food Guide - is about 100m away). The quirky central staircase and decor is really fun. Great time.
The rates are quite high but I think this is reflective of the location.
Location, the building itself, a lovely room with great view and fantastic whirl pool bath. The staff were very helpfull.
Being told on check out that the three bed family room( one singles one double), that I thought I had paid for- in full at the time of booking still had a substantial amount to be paid. This was due to the fact that myself, and two daughters;17 and 18 count as 3 people, and not 2 people. Exactly!! This is why I searched, booked and payed for a family room with 3 beds. This was not a sofa bed, camp bed or mattress but a permanent single bed in a 3 bed room. No fault of the hotel itself, but purely the misleading search results offered by the web site, the language and termenology used thereafter and selective use of small print. Shame.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were welcoming and very efficient, not only in reception but everywhere else too. Valet parking was a brilliant idea and took the hassle out of arrival. Parking not an easy thing too do in such a prime area and this really was a fantastic start to the stay. All done with a smile and cheery manner.
Had a problem with a starter and whilst the bar manager made a point of coming up and apologising, maybe a complimentary drink or something might have been a nice thing to do.
River frontage,in house bar and bar food.
Room up in the roof, nothing shown on internet when booking showing this,no internet on this floor (had to go down to the next floor to get access) Stairs to the top floor are very steep.
We stayed here on a Friday night and both the Hotel and bar were top notch. As a resident the staff simply could not do enough for us which was amazing (thank you to all the staff). The location is second to none so what's not to like...we are already looking forward to our return.
location, atmosphere, breakfast choices
Room a bit tired, noisy extraction system directly below window
Everything.....location, room, food, staff, character etc etc . Made very welcome - even our black lab was greeted by name! Dont hesitate to book!
More air conditioning needed in summer months. Only other observation was a little bit of a problem with the admin - resolved very satisfactorily thank you!
The history and antiques and memoribillia , very interesting, really warm welcome , all staff extremely helpful. Lovely restaurant and bar facilities
Room 10 whilst a lovely room , the windows open and echo the coming and going of the staff and residents of the hotel
