Upgraded to Thomas Hardy Suite, very relaxing, very comfortable bed. Staff were informative and helpful. Wife had pork tenderloin for dinner which was excellent. Excellent breakfast.

The sofa in the T.H. Suite was extremely uncomfortable. I had rump steak for dinner which wasn't as good as I expected, edible but not tender. Unfortunately the swimming pool was out of action as the pump had broken. We were advised of this beforehand, though.

Very convenient location for my visit to a relative. Suitable for women on their own,restaurant good for single travellers. Clean and comfortable, free wifi.

Kerry, on reception, gave me the impression on arrival, that she fellt interuppted and was patronising and rude. In the morning she was not better. The bathroom was not clean at all , dirt under the sink and the floor dirty. Towerrail did not work. Food was a disgrace, I ordered Linguinie with Crab/lemon sauce and got crab tasting lemon soup with a few linguinie(the were drowned!!!!) I did have to ask for a spoon to eat my meal. Breakfast was even worst, I did have to take place in an empty room, except the tables very crowded with dirty dishes, which were still there when I finished. The coffe tasted burnt and I did have to ask to get some toast with my poached eggs. Again the waiterss gave the impression I ask for too much. Overall that's the worst place I stayed in my 15 years traveling around the UK.

Staff were helpful friendly and attentive.

When I confirmed my booking for 1 night I asked if it was possible to have access to the room before 2.00pm as my party were travelling from spain and needed to dress for the wedding taking place at the hotel at 3.00pm. I was told very nicely that in order to ensure this was possible the room would be reserved provisionally for the day before but that I would only be charged if the room could have been let to someone else for that night. We arrived with other guest to the wedding around mid day all 8 of us were given immediate access to their rooms although they hadn't been charged £90.00 for the previous day so when I checked by bill and found that I had iwas needless to say a little upset.

Location and general setting of the Hotel Good warm comfortable bed

Heating in room was very marginal. Shower head was very blocked and produced a very minimal spray of water

I thought that the steam room was one of the best I have ever come across. Also the jacuzzi was brilliant. The bedrooms (we had number 5) was very comfortable and spacious, and I really liked the wonky floors and doors!

Great location in Shaftesbury

They still use Blankets on the beds and the rooms are a little dated

check out at 06:45 : staff was not able to answer wether it was already paid or not and was lost. Nobody was at the reception and I had to wait. Bathroom was not well configured.

Staff are very attentive and helpful. Hotel rooms are more than generous in size and extremely comfortable - worthy of the price per night. Everywhere was clean and it was very quiet and peaceful despite being rather busy. Very relaxing stay to be had here.

Some of the decor in the function rooms needs updating but again,. very clean and comfortable so not really an issue.

The room was very spacious and nice. Well decorated and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and not intrusive.

The smaller room I was first offered was very small and had no bath I felt for the price this would not be good value. However I was offered an alternative room without fuss which was excellent.
