Beds - large and very comfortable View - great view of the River Tay from our bedroom Location - right in the middle of Perth, close to shopping and attractions Staff - very helpful and keen to engage with you
Car parking. Tiny car park - easy to miss, and difficult to maneuver once you are in it.
Location was very good situated fronting the lovely River Tay with Inch Park adjacent to the riverbank where a pleasant walk can conclude in the city centre. The staff were friendly, helpful and considerate of the extra time required by my 94 year old mother to consume her meals. Food was fresh, well presented and plentiful. Altogether a most enjoyable stay.
The hotel has an easy, warm, welcoming "feel" to it. The room was large and tastefully decorated, the bed and en suite facilities comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was tasty and attractively presented. A fire was lit in the fireplace in the morning--nice!
Wi-fi was no good in the room! Please don't advertise that wi-fi works throughout the hotel if that is not the case. Better to say it works in "some" of the hotel locations: that's a more accurate description of what you are offering guests.
Great friendly efficient service, High Tea on Friday a treat Needed Breakfast at 7 on Saturday morning, No problem Full Scottish served within minutes. Quiet room, overlooking the river. Great location, loads of Restaurants within walking distance
Tight Parking, No clock in the room.
Perfect location. Great wi-fi (unusual for hotels). Great breakfast.
location was nice and central
poor parking they need better vermon control ie pidgeons which kept us awake all night for 2 nights we were in room 28 at the top of the stairs above the bar we shut the fire door but somebody opened it again.also the breakfast was sub standard ie porridge was horrible.
The old fashioned lovely comfortable chairs and sofas beside the real fire.
the location was very good and the food was very good.
the room was very disappointing , I had looked at the rooms on the website and they all looked very well finished and modern which was the main reason I booked this accommodation over other hotels in the area as I could have had a cheaper hotel but the rooms did not look so well finished ,but the room we were given was very dated and the facilitys were very disappointing in the room
Fab location, friendly staff, chilled out feel.Requested a room with river view and we got one...well done .Would definetly stay again.
Parking a bit of a lottery, seating in public areas could do with a refurbishment as you can get in to but can't get out easily due to being a few inches from the ground.Only one seat in our room, could have done with another.
Location is great though parking is limited. Staff are very friendly and I get the occasional upgrade. Meals, including breakfast, are superb. If you want to eat out, you are only a stones throw from a dozen places of excellent repute.
Parking: It's a wholly minor dislike as I'm savvy with the location, I know where I can park nearby if the hotel's parking is in use. This is by far my first port of call.
Hotel was nice looking inside and in a good location..
The shower was not the one pictured for the room I booked, it was exceptionally small and difficult to move around in..
No shower hats
The price was right for a Sunday night. The hotel had a comfortable, family-friendly feel to it. The room was superb and the breakfast was substantial and presented well. A truly "classy" place to stay!
Can't think of anything that could be improved upon.
Helpful and attentive staff and great breakfast
Excellent location for the Concert Hall, just across the road so no car journey needed. Lovely room overlooking river Tay, very clean and comfortable. All staff courteous and welcoming though we arrived early. A little confusion re our dog we had booked in but the receptionist most helpful and accomodated her! Wonderfull breakfast, plenty of choice. We certainly will pay a repeat visit.
Poor directions to hotel parking but got there in the end!
Location in town centre with commanding views of river Tay
Attic rooms are very nice, but limited to people who are relatively fit as no lifts and several sets of stairs to be climbed.
Lack of a lift
We had the bridal suite; i.e. the one we did not have on our honeymoon 61 years ago. It was vast, sumptuous and very comfortable. Location and food were good and the staff were very obliging and helpful
The parking area behind the hotel is very congested. It is difficult to see how this could be improved.. Absence of a lift.
Perfect for seeing what Perth has to offer.
A bit of trouble parking.
The location was good. The hotel had a certain charm, a sort of faded Victorian elegance. Could do with a sympathetic refurbishment, without diminishing its character. Staff we're extremely friendly and helpful.
The constant drafts. The dining room and the bedroom were quite drafty.
Room & bed were excellent. Lovely lass at reception was a huge help as I was very ill. She sent toast and tea to my room as I had an important job interview that morning for which I had traveled 4 hours. I wish I could remember her name as she was very professional and kind.
The tall, thin male receptionist on Thursday, 13th Nov. was obviously nervous and in a very bad mood. He was not welcoming, he was extremely bothered and flustered. If there are personal problems, they should be worked out with his employer. It was not the type of person I would want as the 'calling card' of my hotel.
The whole experience was very good.
I have no complaints at all
The shower in room City of Perth No.32 had no small shelf for shampoos or soaps as most showers do.Hardly a complaint but it would make the room perfect.
All staff encountered were top-class; very courteous and professional in there manner. The hotel is excellently located in relation to Perth Concert Hall. It was good to have the opportunity to upgrade to a larger room with a river view.
The lack of hot water to the bathroom sink was a bit disconcerting. Despite reporting this to reception, there was no improvement during the evening, or indeed the following morning. There was no problem with the shower, which was working as expected.
I liked the ambiance, the location and the helpfulness of the front desk staff.
Without a lift, it was tricky for me, as a senior female, to move my luggage about, especially given the quirky layout of the hotel, the stairs and the meandering passages.
