Spacious Room Natural light in bathroom Clean and tidy Comfy mattress Good value for money
Headboard kept us awake - every time either myself or my partner turned over we woke each other up because the headboard squeaked so much Noise from jukebox in pub downstairs (although not a big deal compared to the headboard) Wifi was slow
Location between the 3 cities that we like visit: edimbourg, Glasgow and Stirling.
Really, nothing special
Friendly welcome to town when Spar checkout lady stepped outside to point out the pub to which the rooms are attached and told us how nice they were. Check in by barman quick and efficient. Large very comfortable room and bathroom with use of kitchen where we ate our takeaway. We had a great night's sleep.
The rooms were very nice
location just a little out the way
Use of kitchen was great. staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. clean comfortable and spacious. excellent value for money.
No complementary cereal asbper advert. wifi weak in our room
Room was large, comfortable and clean. Very modern bathroom. Bonus of shared kitchen was a nice touch. Lady behind bar was friendly and helpful.
There are very few food options in the vicinity. It's a shame the Bar is only a drinking bar with no food served at all.
Clean, comfortable and large room. Has seperate kitchen facilities where you can eat and has a fridge, microwave and crockery etc.
No hair dryer in room and music from pub below slightly annoying although it didn't go on late and wasn't prolonged.
The noise from the bar downstairs and outside at closing time was pretty horrendous. On our last morning a fellow guest set off the fire alarm from the kitchen, and there was no way of contacting anyone to come turn it off. The bar was a lock-up with no contact details.
Great welcome on arrival, friendly, clean and easy accommodation.
The rooms are actually attached to the local pub. Our room, although 2 floors up, was above pub entrance and quite noisy with smokers standing on doorstep - ask for room at back!
Couldn't fault the facilities room was excellent
The area not what was expected
The lady at the Royal was very friendly which was nice. We had a good room and the use of a breakfast room. We did go to the restaurant across the street which is a separate business. The service was good but the customers very noisy enjoying themselves.
the small town feel was warm and friendly .. the staff and locals were very helpful and accommodating .. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back soon .. thank you all & especially Donald !
Bartender was friendly
Loud music pounding until 11 pm. Town of Harthill was not very nice. Kind of ugly little town.
Fantastic price for a large room with a lovely en-suite. There was also a communal kitchen if you wished to prepare food, but there are tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Very quiet and the entrance is completely separate to the pub. We paid on arrival (we were allowed to check in early) and dropped the keys into a box when we were ready to leave. The staff were friendly and helpful -directing us to where we could find some lunch and organising a list of taxi numbers for us. I would highly recommend The Royal (as would my parents who also stayed there). It was very very clean...which is something I'm very fussy about!
We were able to self cater in comfort, we sat at our bay window and watched life unfold. The restaurant across the road was excellent, but only open 4 days. Best book. We were well placed for our research.
We had to drive for a restaurant, on other nights.
Comfort and clean room
It was very clean and comfortable. Everything worked well. The landlady was accommodating and unobtrusive. It was an ideal location for us. The breakfast room was great.
Being a pub, it was a little noisy at night but it didn't keep us awake.
I liked the room size and layout, the small kitchen area (not attached to room), reasonably quiet. plenty of small shops and takeaways nearby (no food served in Hotel/pub). Very good value and not a bad base for work west side of Edinburgh.
V small adjacent car park, but free parking across the road
Friendly staff , nice small town. Good room.
Cheap and cheerful, clean and convenient. Shame about the weather but not holding you responsible for that!
Excellent value for money. Providing breakfast would have helped..but nevertheless good overall stay
It was very clean, nicely kept, great location, spacious rooms, convenient kitchen for using fridge and oven
Nothing, everything was great!
The land lady, Elizabeth's customer service was wonderful. The room was clean, spacious and good value for money. General facilities and parking are good.
Noise was pub was evident in Room 3 but almost nil in Room 1
large tidy rooms
Excellent accomodation very clean & friendly staff, definatley stay again
