Staff are fantastic
Lady on reception was very welcoming and helpful
very friendly and helpful staff. comfortableroom with a view
lift could be updated
Central to Lancaster
I felt it was tired and shabby and had rather a gloomy atmosphere
simple no fuss check in, explained, dining times and car park procedure ie leave mobile tel no with car reg worked ok, rooms were clean and quite large, but could do with a lick of paint, I'm informed plans for a little updating to rooms planned for next year.
could be problems in the car park mostly double parked our party had 7 cars but wasn't an issue during our 2 night stay
Reception staff are always polite and informative, I can't comment on other staff simply because I have not yet stayed for breakfast/dinner but I'm sure they are as equally polite and helpful. The rooms always provide tea/coffee making facilities in addition to shampoo etc being available in the bathroom. A hairdryer and trouser press is also made available in the rooms in addition to the normal facilities.
If I have to comment/suggest on negative items, I guess it would probably be the decor and lift. Areas are a little dated/tired looking however it is acknowledged that it is an older building lacking in the more modern facilities/appearance.
OLD STYLE FURNITURE AND COMFORT , STAFF WERE GOOD
THERE WAS NO BAR OR RESTAURANT
ideal location, busy doing up the center ie new paving. street market on during the week. free entry to the museum WW1 the main theme.
Great location, very clean with friendly staff.
The bar was very disappointing - although plenty of establishments very nearby.
I arrived very tired after a long day cycling. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Facilities were fine. Very clean. Right in the centre of town.lots of choice of places to eat within short walk and excellent real ale pub with live music across the road . My best stop on the lands end to john o groats bikeride
Very comfortable bed. Location good for shopping and our visit to the university
Room needed a deep clean. Thick layers of dusty around skirting boards
We stayed here for one night while on a short cycling trip. What I liked best about our stay was their willingness to let us put our bikes in a locked secure room. Good peace of mind etc.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good location for both the station and town, including castle and priory.
Room was a bit stuffy and hot on the top floor.
Location; large bathroom
Dark, old and desperately in need of refurbishment. Was surprised that the lift actually worked, it was that decrepit. Car park is extremely difficult to find - there is a sign very high up on a wall, which is hidden by your car's roof if you are driving. Could not get WiFi to work. No headboard to bed, so had to sit propped up against a window ledge!
Close to the city centre. Good value for somewhere to put your head after a night out
Wallpaper peeling off the wall in the bedroom
Location Room & facilities - good value for money
Finding car park initially (went round one way system three times!)
Desk staff were friendly and professional. Great location for train and castle Tea and coffee making facility in the room
The smell (stale smoke), the flies that greeted you in the lobby, the shabby decor (paper hanging off the ceiling, stained wallpaper, threadbare carpet), tiny double rooms, the price (apparently it's getting a refurb but price was double what it should be for its current state)
Staff were amazing.
Room needed redecorating.
Good location in centre of town late access available ,Efficient Breakfast service.Good staff Hotel Lift.....historic!!
Some paintwork needs touching up and worn areas of carpet to be replaced would make a better impression
Reception staff pleasant and helpful then it all went downhill
The room was grubby, bed uncomfy as a horsehair mattress, lift from the Victorian era, breakfast delayed due to no bacon available, wifi non existent on floor 4 and made travel lodge look like the ritz.
Friendliness and helpfulness of reception staff.
Maybe outside noise on one night but it is in central Lancaster!
Comfortable clean room. Very good value for money. Ideal for shopping, sight seeing, restaurants etc. Great for a weekend away
Shower/ bathroom was abit mouldy and could do with an upgrade
Location near station & town centre. Friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast in the large room. A glimpse of past glory.
The rooms are in serious need of redecoration. As a fairly regular visitor disappointed in tiny room given. But will be back!
Helpful staff, good location
The lift was out of order when we arrived (but they called us before whether it would be acceptabvle for us).
