Reception staff pleasant and helpful then it all went downhill
The room was grubby, bed uncomfy as a horsehair mattress, lift from the Victorian era, breakfast delayed due to no bacon available, wifi non existent on floor 4 and made travel lodge look like the ritz.
Friendliness and helpfulness of reception staff.
Maybe outside noise on one night but it is in central Lancaster!
Comfortable clean room. Very good value for money. Ideal for shopping, sight seeing, restaurants etc. Great for a weekend away
Shower/ bathroom was abit mouldy and could do with an upgrade
Location near station & town centre. Friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast in the large room. A glimpse of past glory.
The rooms are in serious need of redecoration. As a fairly regular visitor disappointed in tiny room given. But will be back!
Helpful staff, good location
The lift was out of order when we arrived (but they called us before whether it would be acceptabvle for us).
Perfect city centre location, friendly staff and lovely hot shower.
Looking a little tired around the edges
Clean towels daily. Very helpful staff. Nice size room. Had a lift.
Would have liked the option to have an evening meal in hotel
All great :)
Excellent staff, so helpful from guiding us into the car park after a tour of Lancaster, to getting in touch with the nearest Ford dealer the following morning because of problems with my car. Great service from Linsay.
Poorly directed car park which is very hard to find.
Location in the centre of town with parking
Rather shabby and no bar after 9pm
Very poor bedrooms old lift
location building staff breakfast minstrel gallery
bed was lumpy and uneven lift was claustraphobic to my wife windows were drafty
The fact that you accommodate unusual travellers, in our case we arrived with an 8foot long tandem which you kindly put safely away for the night.
Morning staff weren't as friendly as I would like, but it was 6am!
Breakfast staff great
Rooms need up dated bathroom in a bad way had to wait an age for breakfast had to ask for cups and milk at breakfast bed to hard
Location centre of town
Entire hotel - rooms tiny need cleaning lift is old and dangerous
Staff Friendly. Location. Value. Car Park.
Rather sombre and dated decor.
great location, freindly staff,
to pricey and didnt even include breakfast very disapointed, beds very uncomfortable.
The staff were very helpful and kind
Public rooms are in much better shape than the bedrooms. The minstrals gallery was stunning. Breakfast was good. Little bit noisy due to the position of my bed and the wind, but otherwise generously proportioned room.
Water pressure was so good I almost flooded the bathroom!
Great location, friendly staff and nice feeling. I like the old-fashioned style. Really good wi-fi. The staff called and informed about the non-working lift.
The lift did not work, I had to carry my bag to the 4th floor. Breakfast not included, and the one offered was expensive and not too good.
this hotel is in a great location and convenient for all my requirements we have used this hotel on many occasions and will use it in the future
unfortunately this visit the lift was out of order, we were informed about it the day before we arrived, as we are elderly we found it difficult going up all the stairs too our room, as this is a vital piece of equipment to the facilities of this hotel, i would of liked to of seen a engineer working to correct it ,it was still not working on the Sunday the day we vacated
Good value for money, excellent location in the centre of town, car park, free wifi, bath, some nice old touches in the hotel such as the original lift. Nice friendly staff too.
The room and some of the hallways were looking very tired and in need of TLC, taps on sink and bath were a bit dodgy door closers are over powered and slam the doors closed.
Breakfast was nice.
The lift was broke. We were on 3rd floor. Very very noisy from traffic on main road with traffic stopping and starting from traffic lights right below, this went on all night. Room very warm, windows only opened about 4 inches.
Room was clean and tidy. Great view of the castle. Lovely comfy bed. Staff were lovely, polite and friendly. Will definitely return.
Lift out of order, but we were notified of this before we arrived.
