In central Lancaster, Crows Nest hotel has an internet cafe and free Wi-Fi. There is free parking, and Lancaster’s bus and train stations are a 4 minute walk away.
Score from 111 reviews Very good
Very central location with enough parking spaces. Clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Probably the best full breakfast I have had.
Central Lancaster traffic is a nightmare in the one way system. Hopefully this will be better when they finish the major work that is closing roads in the town. Wi-fi a little weak in my part of the hotel but a lot stronger elsewhere
The most uncomfortable bed with a torn bed sheet and a mattress with springs that stuck in to your back and went trwang in the night.
Great location as the amenities of Lancaster close by in walking distance. Pleasant staff and accommodating to young people. Very Clean facilities
Felt the room I stayed in was comfortable and staff approachable although feels a bit dated inside and needs some modern furnishing. Also the hot water tap was not working in the sink.
Dining room bright and light. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Location good for castle, station and town.
Bedroom poor but you get what you pay for.
Good location. Very clean.
Rooms in need of refurb.
Location, great staff, super breakfast, quaint old lift. Stayed here several times, rooms are variable.this time room 408 much better than last visit (418). Will return.
A bit dated
the hotel was in the best location ad the staff we accomodating
Friendly staff, central and reasonable priced.
Everything was fine.
Staff are fantastic
Lady on reception was very welcoming and helpful
very friendly and helpful staff. comfortableroom with a view
lift could be updated
Central to Lancaster
I felt it was tired and shabby and had rather a gloomy atmosphere
simple no fuss check in, explained, dining times and car park procedure ie leave mobile tel no with car reg worked ok, rooms were clean and quite large, but could do with a lick of paint, I'm informed plans for a little updating to rooms planned for next year.
could be problems in the car park mostly double parked our party had 7 cars but wasn't an issue during our 2 night stay
Reception staff are always polite and informative, I can't comment on other staff simply because I have not yet stayed for breakfast/dinner but I'm sure they are as equally polite and helpful. The rooms always provide tea/coffee making facilities in addition to shampoo etc being available in the bathroom. A hairdryer and trouser press is also made available in the rooms in addition to the normal facilities.
If I have to comment/suggest on negative items, I guess it would probably be the decor and lift. Areas are a little dated/tired looking however it is acknowledged that it is an older building lacking in the more modern facilities/appearance.
OLD STYLE FURNITURE AND COMFORT , STAFF WERE GOOD
THERE WAS NO BAR OR RESTAURANT
ideal location, busy doing up the center ie new paving. street market on during the week. free entry to the museum WW1 the main theme.
Great location, very clean with friendly staff.
The bar was very disappointing - although plenty of establishments very nearby.
I arrived very tired after a long day cycling. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Facilities were fine. Very clean. Right in the centre of town.lots of choice of places to eat within short walk and excellent real ale pub with live music across the road . My best stop on the lands end to john o groats bikeride
Very comfortable bed. Location good for shopping and our visit to the university
Room needed a deep clean. Thick layers of dusty around skirting boards
We stayed here for one night while on a short cycling trip. What I liked best about our stay was their willingness to let us put our bikes in a locked secure room. Good peace of mind etc.
I thought the reception staff were great - very friendly, good customer care skills. I needed to change my room as the original was not up to a reasonable standard as far as cleanliness/décor was concerned.
General decor of the bedrooms was not good. The hotel is in a great location but is clearly in need of an extensive makeover. Most of my party were philosophical with comments like "you get what you pay for - cheap accommodation but wouldn't bring the wife".
Terrible rooms, until we ask to be moved to the suite
Friendly, helpful staff. Good location for both the station and town, including castle and priory.
Room was a bit stuffy and hot on the top floor.
