Friendliness of bar staff; good food, both breakfast and the Tapas Bar - delicious!
No hot water to wash/shower on the first morning (manager blamed large family in next room using up the hot water BUT that is NOT good enough. Also, wet towel and bathmat left in shower were not replaced and the room was not serviced at all !
For an overnight stay it was decent. Within a 5 minute walk into town.
Wouldn't go there again, the rooms were dirty with dust everywhere, TV remote didn't work properly, got cold in the middle of the night and there was no hot shower in the morning.
City centre location with private parking. Excellent Tapas Restaurant. Great Breakfast. Friendly & Knowledgeable staff
Bed could have been a bit longer, but everything else was spot on.
The bar and food, including breakfast was excellent.
Our room was clean and warm, The towels and bed linen were all crisp white. The young lady behind the bar who checked us in was very polite and friendly. Free parking and was able to leave the car on the car park the next day whilst we went shopping. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. We ate in Latinos the night before and the food was superb, staff very friendly and first class. Will definitely stay again and eat in Latinos
Possibly the entrance to the Hotel rooms could be a bit better. The hall and staircase carpet is possibly ready for change and our room was next on the list to be refurbished.
Good location in the city. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Wifi. Off street car parking.
helpful and friendly staff
poorly furnished room
Great Location, Staff very friendly. Tapas Bar excellent food. Breakfast was also great too! Will definitely be returning
We stayed at the Latinos when taking our son to University. The location was ideal for walking into town and the staff were friendly and courteous. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. all in all a lovely stay.
Centrally located and having onsite free parking is a real bonus
The street outside is very noisy into the early hours of the morning but this is not the hotels fault just merely an observation to beware of
Great location and yummy breakfast
Convenient to everything but especially the hospital which was an easy 10 minute walk along the canal. Off street parking a real bonus. Friendly staff, super comfy bed, great shower, tea making facility in room. Eateries and shops just around the corner. Good brekkie in the bar with the TV on - felt like home. Really nice, basic family hotel
I was very happy with all aspects of my stay, good service, clean, comfortable room and a very good breakfast. Most of all, it was great value for money.
The only problem was traffic congestion in Lancaster due to road works, obviously not the fault of the Royal Hotel.
went to visit our daughter who now lives in Lancaster, the hotel is situated right in the middle of the centre so easy access to the shops and attractions. The breakfast included in the price of the room was cooked fresh when we got down to the restaurant in the morning and it was beautiful. We also ate in the Tapas bar on the Saturday night and the food was cooked to absolute perfection. staff also very friendly, real family orientated hotel. looking forward to visiting again. will be making it our regular stop for when we go to lancaster
I didn't stay in the hotel I booked , I was called the day before to tell me I was being moved to another hotel, by a gent named Alan. We stayed in Crows hotel , it was central but not a hotel , it was bed and breakfast , Jill the lady working there was lovely and made a our stay more than comfortable . The guest house was okay. Very basic but cute, the wardrobe was very shakey. There was no reception service , no telephone in room , you had to come outside to go to the dining room , but breakfast was lovely , as it was cooked to order , and plenty on cold buffet ,joe the owner was very pleasant and helpful , but it's not a hotel ,
Pillows not good old. O mattress cover on bed . No telephone in room . No reception cover Could be a lot clean No lift and I was on top floor Smoking allowed not good idea
Easy reach of centre and easy to find
Friendly, central yet quiet, good food, comfortable and clean rooms
breakfast clean parking not a chain
The temperature! On a sweltering July night 2 of us (single women) were put in a tiny, suffocatingly hot twin bedded room on the top floor with no fan or other opportunity for cooling down. Neither of us slept at all, despite having to prop the door open all night (not very safe). Didn't understand why another room e.g. on a lower floor was not offered as nobody else appeared to be staying here. Also as they stopped serving tapas at about 8pm it would have been nice to have been told before we went out and returned hungry!
The position of the hotel was handy for all amenities in the area.
The cord on the sash window was broken, the window was supported by a piece of wood to keep it open. The breakfast was too greasy.
Excellant location, tapas and breakfast very good. Able to come and go as you pleased without having to go through the restaurant. Very good value for money and perfect for a short weekend break
breakfast was very good
far too noisy
The location in the centre of Lancaster was excellent -- nothing was too far away.
Don't be put off on arrival -- the building looked tired, but the rooms were fine and clean. The cooked breakfast was very good.
Friendly staff, quiet stay, clear info.
Steep stairs, especially with luggage, no window in en-suite so bit stuffy.
