Located above Lancaster's best known tapas bar, Latinos, this charming hotel provides comfortable, modern rooms with private bathrooms, with a superb view of the historic surroundings. Opened in 2008, the Royal Hotel (Latinos) has spacious rooms with secondary glazing, plasma-screen TV and free Wi-Fi internet access. The Royal Hotel is ideally located in the heart of Lancaster, next to stores and the nightlife area. The castle and priory are also within walking distance. Each evening you can sample up to 53 different dishes (20 vegetarian) in the tapas bar. All meals are accompanied by a choice of soft drinks, fine wines and champagne, beers, cocktails or even a jug of sangria. Warm welcome by friendly staff. Location is perfect for getting into town. Spacious rooms with great bathroom facilities. Happily catered for a vegetarian at breakfast. Best value for money hotel we've ever stayed at. Can't find anything

Price was very good. Breakfast was included. Room was large & quiet. Water was hot. Everything seemed clean and staff were friendly and helpful. It wasn't the nicest breakfast I've ever had. A menu offering a choice of scambled/poached/fried eggs would have been preferred. All items seemed re-heated rather than cooked fresh, even though I seemed to be first down to breakfast. Wardrobe in room would have been more suitable in a student's house rather than an Inn/Hotel. Even in a budget hotel you'd expect soap in the shower.

Easy access to Wifi. Horrible bedding and potentially bad for the back. Toilet supplies ridiculous. A can of soap and half a roll of toilet paper with no facial paper.

Nothing Access by fire escape type steps. No wardrobe, just a canvas hanging area. Sticky dirty bathroom floor. Mould around shower. Faulty tv, dirty carpet, noise from street. Door rattled every time someone entered building giving impression someone was entering the room

The very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent We would happily return but just to note the accommodation was more akin to a B&B than a hotel but that suited our needs perfectly. The weather but that's hardly the Hotel's fault!

Nice cosy hotel with parking Second time there will not stay again guests very noisy when coming in at night at two or three in the morning entry door banging when anybody enters club next to hotel screaming and shouting all night as it is open till six

Comfortable beds Food I stayed with 7 work collegues it was a birthday celebration and was very dissapointed with the cleanliness i found a mouldy sandwich in the draw, and the toilet was dirty, clearly the room had not been cleaned.

The staff were very friendly and the Tapas bar underneath was excellent The only thing we didn't like was the bed. It was 2 singles pushed together and 2 mattresses. Very uncomfortable.
