    I Love Morecambe.

I Love Morecambe. There is a good community feel about Morecambe. i have wonderful Tai reasonably priced massages when I am there. There are street plantings and lots of seating. Good charity shops. Very good eating places. Lots of inspiring street art. The Morecambe bay views and sunsets are fantastic and the northern lights can be viewed from there. We ate plant based food at the Midland Hotel which was reasonably priced. It is easy to get around. the buses are regular and you can get rides in pony traps. I would never go to The Clifton hotel again but it was cheap.

It's on the up and is my town of choice whenevrer I have to use the ferry from Heysham. Great shops and a lovely prom. when the weather is nice! Close enough to Lake District and Blackpool to use as a base.

Some of it has been regenerated but it still needs a lot of money investing to bring it up to scratch. There are very few places to eat at night. Pubs and bars are run down. Hopefully the Eden Project will inject new life into it.

    Morecambe is in poor shape.

Morecambe is in poor shape. Boarded up and derelict buildings abound. Much of it has the feel of rougher areas of Manchester rather than a coastal resort almost in the Lake District. It also seems too spread out. Instead of the main things being centred around one area, they seem to be dotted about here and there, in a strange, disjoint way.

Hotel was easy to find, the owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bright, well decorated, with an excellent view of the front. Parking outside is pot luck, but there is cheap public parking only a few hundred yards away if there are no spaces. Breakfast was good - the bacon and sausages were best quality. The owners were happy to recommend places to eat and drink. The lounge is bright and airy and they offer a small bar at reasonable rates or with a donation to charity. We had a good time in morecambe

A break in our journey to Scotland gave us the opportunity to stay at this iconic Art Deco hotel. The restoration has been magnificent. Our huge room overlooked the beautiful Morecambe bay. Dinner in the restaurant was a lovely experience as we watched the most amazing sunset we have ever seen or likely to see! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was happy for us to stay until the last of the sun’s rays disappeared at 10.45pm. It was truly a stay which we will never forget.

We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were visiting family, the room was a nice size with a view over Morecambe Bay, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The hotel doesn't have parking but there was no problems parking on the prom and there is a covered area for you to pull your car into in case it's raining when you want to pack your car. I've stayed at similarly priced hotels on Morecambe Prom and I'd recommend The Strathmore over them

I dont know where to start, excellent property it had everything in the kitchen you could ever possibly need, lovely dining area and courtyard which you can also dine. Large lounge with log burner, although we didn't need that. Large bedroom with huge kingsize bed. A second bedroom with single bed. Bathroom had everything you needed and a lovely shower. Perfect all round and excellent value. This was cheaper than most of the hotels in morecambe

A beautiful hotel right on the seafront. I loved my room with the sea view. A grand old lady that is well taken care of in spite of her age. The 10GBP breakfast was excellent value. The check in process was great. The staff were lovely. Atkinson's (I think) fish and chips around the corner may be the best I've ever had! Whilst I didn't go, there is a bar located outside and downstairs. Just a wonderful stay and I wish I could have stayed longer.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, front facing and the bathroom was well appointed. The evening meal was terrific, with a nice selection on offer and the portions were large. The breakfast was outstanding especially the large full Morecambe Hotel, kept me going until late evening. The hotel has a lovely area out the back with tables and chairs really nicely finished and even has a little childrens' play area.

The room was small, but the view across Morecambe Bay to the mountains was wonderful. We thought the staff members were all lovely. They were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. It was great to be able to store our bicycles in an empty room near Reception. The breakfast was good - ample and with plenty of choice and good coffee. We cycled each day, starting on the cycle path just yards from the hotel, on the promenade.

Everything about the hotel is first class (slight exception regarding breakfast). The hotel is just a few yards from the seafront and a short walk to the centre. The rooms are very comfortable and a fantastic bathroom with a great shower. They have a very nice restaurant on site and a great beer garden outback.
