Everything the whole package was great.
this was a very central accomodation very clean comfortable and an eccellent breakfast. the staff were very attentive. we would recommend this to our friends.
Central location for town and lake shore, friendly staff, real ales, bar facilities and restaurant.
Complicated car parking
The Royal Oak is an excellent pub with beautiful rooms. Me and my wife stayed for 3 days in room 5 which was a beautiful room which we could not find fault with, we even had the option of having our breakfast served to our room at a time of our choice. The staff were all friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. I would recommend the Royal Oak to anyone visiting Bowness
I think there may have been something wrong with the pool table because my wife beat me 6-4 :-)
Friendly staff. Clean accommodation food good
If you wanted to bath after 8 o'clock there was no hot water . The hot water run on an Emerson heater and it had all been used .
staff, breakfast, location.
booked the small double, receipt was for 1 person rang up and spoke to them. said there would be 2 people. was charged £20 a night for extra breakfast. But apart from this it was lovely.
how polite your staff were, clean rooms ,beer, location.information
breakfast a bit late, bed to soft,no iron, nowhere to dry clothes.
As a repeat guest,everything excellent.
NEAR TO WINDERMERE LAKE AND ALL EATING PLACES. THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE.
THE PARKING WAS VERY TIGHT AND RESTRICTED. LIKELY TO HAVE YOUR CAR SCRATCHED OR DENTED. THE DRINKS WERE EXPENSIVE TO SOME OTHER BARS. THE FOOD WAS AVERAGE.
The bar was excellent with good choice of beers and a reasonable menu. Guests are given voucher for 10% off meals in bar.
The food &friendlyness of staff.
Car park awkward.
Welcoming, homely. Bottle of wine for our anniversary was a nice touch. Evening meal was excellent.
Parking a bit tight but well handled by staff.
Comfortable rooms, pleasant and helpful staff and excellent freshly cooked breakfasts.
Breakfast was excellent
Just on edge of shopping area, 2 min to lakeside, but road quiet, so could sleep with window open. Good breakfast. Cozy ambiance. very little noise from bar area ( week nights in May, could get busier into the summer) Plenty of outside tables for drinks on warm nights.Unlimited tea and coffee supplies in room. Good comfortable pub accommodation.
Not so much dislikes..after all it is an old building in a mountainous area but car parking is a bit of an adventure and if you don't like stairs ask not to be put on top floor!
Great location. Staff really attentive.
Location to lake. Food was excellent and having breakfast in our room was good.Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good pub grub, good range of beers, friendly staff.
Poor car parking, shower erratic, little hot water
Comfortable and friendly. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
My only minor complaint was that the toilet was behind the door in the ensuite and getting in and out was a little tricky but not a massive problem.
Staff friendly and welcoming,,location was excellent.the 10per cent discount on food in Royal Oak and Roumors restaurant a nice bonus.very good breakfast nothing to much trouble. We stayed in room 10although this room is above the bar you can't hear it at night.
Only one small negative is that the bathroom door opens inwards and so is very tight to get in and close the door, otherwise very spacious.
A busy pub in an excellant location, perfect for all local attractions and Lake Our room was well decorated and comfortable. a good selection of food and drink available
Only minor problem - could do with a towel rail in the bathroom, and a handrail to help anyone infirm in and out of the bath,
Good sized room. Clean and tidy. Good bathroom fresh towels daily. Staff were helpful. Nice breakfast. Overall a good place to stay and would stay again.
Car parking a bit tight.
The location was fantastic, only a 2 min walk from Lake Windermere and all the shops and restaurants in town. The bar was also good and quite busy. And a proper northern breakfast.
Parking was a struggle.
The royal oak is ideal for the centre of bowness, just a short walk. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely return!!
