Noisy at letting out of pub time
Excellent bed and very good food and service. Beer cannot be faulted
Car park could be a pain in high season
Great service, great food and great location in the centre of Bowness.
a clean friendly hotel. friendly staff and patrons. A nice area with plenty of shops and restaurants. . Food in royal oak excellent. Will visit again. A very restful stay.
Helpfulness of staff fab breakfast
Shared bathroom seemed to be shared by more than stated
Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast
The room and bathroom were modern but a little small. Car park is tight
The staff were polite, helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Overall a really good hotel with excellent location and run well.
My TV did not work
Food very good
Room very small business
Excellent location and the breakfast was beautiful. Friendly staff.
Rooms are a little dated and it was a shared bathroom.
They had no heating on and I had to get them to give me a separate heater as the room was cold. The room was very small and I had to share a bathroom
Everything was great the breakfast was amazing nothing was too much for the staff it was a great say.
Central location friendly staff .
Staff so nice and friendly nothing was too much for them .great stay .
It was close to the waterfront and was a good place to cruise the lake. Staff were all very pleasant and the food was enjoyable. Our room and bathroom was a good size too.
We found the bed too hard and felt it would benefit from a good quality mattress cover.
Location excellent. Large comfy bed. Reasonably priced pub food. Parking on site.
Cleanliness in bathroom could have been better. Areas of car park very steep, car handbrake needs to be efficient. Dinning room (breakfast area) dark and dingy.
We found the staff very helpful and friendly with good food and great atmosphere.
There were adequate parking for all but once parked you are on foot. Lake and shops are just minutes away.
Everything the whole package was great.
Very near to the lake and nearby activities. Very helpful and nice staff. We had the chance to be given room no. 10, where guests have their breakfast brought up in their room instead of downstairs. The room has a view over the mountains and very near to the markets and the bus route.
The toilet has 2 seperate water tabs, hot & cold on both sides. I kept wondering how could I use both at the same time! You have to lift up your luggage upstairs as there is no lift (I was offered help by the owners). There is no telephone, refrigerator nor a safe in the room. TV channels limited.
this was a very central accomodation very clean comfortable and an eccellent breakfast. the staff were very attentive. we would recommend this to our friends.
Central location for town and lake shore, friendly staff, real ales, bar facilities and restaurant.
Complicated car parking
The Royal Oak is an excellent pub with beautiful rooms. Me and my wife stayed for 3 days in room 5 which was a beautiful room which we could not find fault with, we even had the option of having our breakfast served to our room at a time of our choice. The staff were all friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. I would recommend the Royal Oak to anyone visiting Bowness
I think there may have been something wrong with the pool table because my wife beat me 6-4 :-)
Friendly staff. Clean accommodation food good
If you wanted to bath after 8 o'clock there was no hot water . The hot water run on an Emerson heater and it had all been used .
