Great warm service and friendly locals!
Lovely Friendly staff, friendly atmosphere in the pub
Really friendly staff and locals beautiful setting great breakfast really enjoyed my stay
bath, no shower
Owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is perfect serving is even better. Clean and comfortable room. If you want to switch off and just relax this is the right place.
Lovely hotel, great food, amazing tasty full english breakfast - very friendly and helpful staff - open fire range in traditional bar - well worth the drive to find it - eveving meal excellent -plenty of parking - small shop next door - no network coverage and no internet but that was a good thing
no internet and no network coverage - good and bad depending if you need to talk - phone box on the corner! room could do with a shower rather than bath
Good Room Good Food Good Host
Great food, beer and staff. Just how a country pun/inn should be.
Lovely old country pub with a warm welcome and a lovely log fire. Pretty, comfortable, clean room with excellent food. The bubble and squeak with hollandaise sauce for breakfast was wonderful!
Nothing a problem for the great staff
Staff were great, really nice and could not fault. Really really helpful and understanding - I arrived rather late.
No shower in the bathroom. No TV in the room. The bed was not the best and there was a damp smell in the room.
A great welcome, even though we arrived quite late; the excellent organic and locally sourced food which is home cooked and provides a good choice for vegetarians and even has gluten free options; comfortable rooms, and also the fact that they have single rooms - which are not easy to find at good prices.
The staff where very friendly and the breakfast was great.
it was very noisy as there where a lot of people sitting outside until well after midnight, not being rowdy but where very loud and our room was right above them. The bed was not made on the Sunday morning while we were out although the tea coffee was replenished. The breakfast cereal was left out on a table in the dinning area all day and into the evening on Saturday. Just a table cloth on tables at breakfast time would make all the difference. Would have preferred cooked breakfast served on an ordinary plate rather than a plate shaped rather like a bowl
Stunning location & views. Very nice bar below. Delicious food, locally & ethically sourced. Good value for money. Single room overlooking the car park with shared bathroom (though only with other single room) was totally fine for a night.
Great breakfast. Owner really welcoming and great staff. Amazing value. Lovely location. B roads around wend through spectacular scenery. Wales at its best!
Rural location surrounded by places of interest and great scenery; perfect overnight stop for (motorcycle) touring. Also great hosts, ales and imaginative menu with many home made (V & GF) options ~ can recommend the stuffed peppers and hot cherry crumble!!
As mentioned elsewhere, solo travelers get small single rooms at rear overlooking the mini car park, but adequate for a budget overnight stay.
Superb situation overlooking the Dinas valley. Good parking and a comfortable spacious room. Breakfast was excellent.
The bathroom desperately needs a proper shower, or at least a shower curtain or screen. In this day and age it is not really acceptable to have a shower attached to the bath taps. Evening meal was O.K., but nothing special - we weren't even offered a pudding!
Brilliant staff, amazing views of Welsh hills and an awesome English breakfast. You could tell it was local quality produce. If I was in the area again, I would definitely stay here.
Typical tucked away pub with good food and beers, lovely countryside
Good traditional food and drink. Friendly staff. Only 3 miles from my favourite RSPB reserve at Dinas.
Good service and tasty meals
Mattresses too soft.
Breakfast was excellent, and the value for money fantastic, also had evening meal, again very good. I stayed at short notice on overnight business trip, so wasn't able to take advantage of the splendid scenery etc of the local area.
Internet access was a bit hit and miss.
Made feel very welcome, breakfast is second to none, very clean rooms
Good food comfy beds excellant facilities.Lovely management and staff.
Not enough sockets or could do with suppling a multi plug. Maybe a shower instead of a bath in the twin room but that is only my personal preferance.
