Friendly, clean, great location if you are on holiday, very dog friendly, great choice of menu although I had a snack at the bar, good range of beers and a fabulous breakfast that lasted me all day. Great fun crew and a charming Inn.

The owners, Mark & Sally Bradley, are charming, attentive and efficient. The rooms are excellent and the food is excellent with locally sourced high quality ingredients. It was a great discovery in this part of the West Country

Well managed establishment in beautiful Exmoor country. Spacious, comfortable accommodation. Excellent food, very good chef, comprehensive breakfast was outstanding.

Very little, only that our stay was restricted to four days!

Lovely location and very hospitable hosts. Excellent rooms. Local real ale.

The sirloin steak we had for dinner was on the tough side, but to balance that overall the food was very good.

Winsford is lovely location on Exmoor and the Inn itself attractive from the outside.

The décor is tired and dated; owners not particularly interested or welcoming. Our room which was at the expensive end of the tariff was very dated indeed and sufficiently close to the kitchen to suffer constantly from noise from the fans in the refrigeration room all night cutting in and out and there was a wasps nest outside our window which meant we could not open it. So many tables had been crammed into the inn that there was only a tiny amount of space at the bar so if you wanted a pre-dinner drink you had to go through to your table to drink it. We had hoped for a convivial inn in which to relax and enjoy ourselves as it was we were rushed through so they could cram more diners in. We went to Dulverton the next night and found much better hosts and food, although our food at the Royal Oak was perfectly adequate - nothing fantastic though.

Really beautiful old thatched pub in quiet exmoor village. Amazing food and service from helpful & friendly staff. A real bit of luxury in the heart of the beauty of exmoor.
