the location, already knew the village and and had had lunch at the inn some 15 years ago. Loved the building, the room was extremely comfortable, the bar and restaurant excellent with atmosphere, the staff very friendly. Excellent breakfast too.

MY only problem was the lack of a "nice" beer-garden, where to sit and enjoy a drink.... and a cigarette! There was a garden but not set out properly; it could be done in the car-park.

Whats not to like?

The staff was extremely welcoming. The food was first class (and the bar atmospheric). The hotel itself was picturesque (I believe it when they say that the building is one of the most phtographed inns in Britain). It's a rural setting ideal for hiking and exploring Exmoor.

Very cosy

Hotel is much improved on from previous owners. The room was delightful, with four poster. lots of space and a dressing roo, wonderful. Food excellant and very comfortable resturant and bars. Excellant location for walking on Exmoor. We had a wonderful few days.

Perhaps painting walls in bathroom, but l'm sure thats planned

Room lock 'fiddly' to open, Alarm/call etc unit took up too much space on bedside cupboard, meals a bit large for us 'oldies'

The Inn was located in a beautiful little village, and was iconic with its thatched roof and old paned windows. The staff was friendly, and the room cozy and comfortable. The large well equipped bath was much appreciated. We took a lovely walk down some of the surrounding lanes before dinner...a very picturesque spot.

A beautiful thatched Inn in a picturesque Exmoor village. Definitely worth booking the luxury room as it is stunning, with a huge four poster bed and exposed beams.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Meals in the restaurant were very nice. Nice to stay in a thacthed country inn not spoilt by being part of a chain. I would recommend it.

A well run family business where everyone was helpful.

Nothing really, although personally I prefer a shower where you can remove the shower head, and not have a fixed unit. The relaxing chairs in the room were quite small.

A very nicely located hotel for a short relaxing break. Excellent rooms, very comfortable beds,clean, and quiet.Very good menu in the evenings and an excellent breakfast.
