Dating back to the 16th century, Tudor House Hotel is on the edge of historic Tewkesbury, overlooking the Avon River. The magnificent building has a real ale bar and traditional restaurant.

everything, the ambiance ,the food , the beer, the value ,and the landlord and lady made for a great stay
The friendly staff And the room
The noise of the fridge that was in the room.
Breakfast was good and a good position for walking or cycling.
The room was warm bed comfortable but soft. Carpet was strange.
Staff and management friendly and very welcoming very comfortable room with everything required
A little cold with heating on full.
The food was of excellent quality, good value and filling. We had an evening meal and breakfast that you could not fault. The staff were very hard working, with a smile and very pleasant. Made you feel comfortable and relaxed. The restaurant was clean, warm and decorated really nicely. Drinks served as they should be, Cider - Ice cold and Tea - boiling hot. Good choice of drinks and a homely, cosy atmosphere in the bar. The room was compact and bijou, nicely decorated and warm. The bed was softer than we are used to but we slept really well. Was a lovely sunny morning when we left and it took half the time to get back to Worcester than it did to get to the pub and we really enjoyed the country side views. Would highly recommend this as a good stop over place for site-seeing and visiting friends/relatives. We will definitely use it again.
The room was a little cramped and was a short walk around the back of the pub. It also felt a little damp. The shower had a curtain instead of a screen so water went all over the bathroom floor. Could not get many channels on the TV. The Macerator kept going off when in the bathroom and was loud. Would have been nice to have a sofa to sit on instead of the bed but no room. We did not like the fog on the way to the pub through the country lanes.
Nothing in particular. Just a few things would make the whole thing excellent. For example, carpet and bathroom. For the money, however, we were very happy.
The location was convenient for us to visit family.
The double room we were given was extremely small and smelt very dank and musty. The landlord said the smell was due to a new carpet being glued down the previous day but it wasn't! The bathroom door didn't close and the window had to be forced closed from outside. We asked for another room but there were none available and as our son and his family were also staying we had no choice but to stay.Breakfast next morning was nice when we got it after a 40minute wait but we had to ask for condiments and butter and there was no marmelade for the toast. One girl was doing everything alone and was really pushed with only the occupants of four rooms to cater for.In general it wasn't an experience we would repeat but the Royal Oak has refunded us £15 for inconvenience. Our advice would be to have a family room at the same price.
Very noisy bolier in room kept us awake then even noisier neighbours kept us up and eventually had to get up and ask them to keep noise down!! Breakfast was nice when it arrived after almost a hour waiting.
The atmosphere was great, the food was lovely and very reasonably priced
The bed was soft and lumpy and the room was cold
All good room compact but comfortable bed an all mod cons - wifi and tele a bit temperamental but mnothing major - staff great evening meal good and nice friendly staff - breakfast was great value good quality and loads of if - locals friendly and parking FOC all round good experience
Breakfast was not too bad, a little cold. Bed was quit comfy. Bar maid tried to help.
Location too far out for sole lady on business. Room not fit for business user. When booking the photos showed a bright room with one or two chairs and it looked like I could work in the room. I was shocked when showed the room and later asked the barmaid if I could change the room as it was too small. She came back to say they were fully booked so she could not help. I asked for a chair, which was provided. This was hopeless as the room was too small. The room had a very bad smell coming from the chemical toilet in the small shower room. They tried to mask the smell with a cheap air freshener. It was horrible! The room was situated at the back of the pub near the kitchen. Outside the kitchen door I could see loads of rubbish. It did not look good. I then went for my evening meal to be told the chef did not work on that evening. I should have known better not to order a steak. The food was not the same as portrayed on Booking.com. I made this comment. My room and food did not match photos. To top it all!!.The TV did not work. It was pixelated on all channels. What a good stay!!
The environment and proximity to the motorway. The Royal Oak atmosphere was very enjoyable, with the local personnel/regulars very friendly. Breakfast was good and service was as expected throughout . The comfort of the beds afforded a very good nights sleep
The bathroom door had no means of securing shut , in that it didn't latch on the frame sear and had no bolt . One of the rooms that our elderly friends stayed in had an odd smell of damp/fustiness and was hardly bedroom size ( more box room). It was necessary to back onto the toilet , as the shower base gave no space for the toilet access. My friend caught the shower base prior to using the toilet , fell over the toilet and damaged their shoulder . The outcome was his inability to continue to drive down to Devon , 4 hours in Barnstaple A&E and only the use of one vehicle for the majority of our fortnights holiday . I wouldn't recommend this location for other personnel . The staff are very amiable , assistive and do a good job , but we would not use the Royal Oak again , if the only room was the one our friends had .
Every thing, had a good laugh and a few beers. Great pub food. Will certainly use again.
Nice little pub, staff and locals very friendly, good food.
Was disappointed our room wasn't actually in the pub, our room was very small and smelt a bit damp. We stayed for two nights and our cups were not changed.
Very friendly welcome, lovely location, good breakfast, although not pleased with the state of bathroom we would stay again.
Bathrooms need attention - tiles need to be put down in bathroom, carpet very unhygienic. Radiator needs painting, all rusty. Needs shelf above sink.
Service at the restaurant, Good location
Separate bungalow type rooms with own front door. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. The breakfast was superb.
The room had a slight smell of the toilet which was a saniflow. I had trouble checking out could not find anyone to take payment.
location and facilities
bathroom was in need of a full refurd
Very small room, otherwise everything was good.
Clean rooms Friendly staff Really easy to reorganize booking
Cannot fault them, everything was great
Breakfast too late no alternative offered

requires a good cleaning .
had to leave early missed breakfast not much effort to accommodate anything no cereal no milk no coussants just a bacon sandwich from previous night although checkout is from 7
Friendly staff, clean room, good breakfast, very pleasant location, very good value for money.
Wifi did not work for me. Our particular room had everything we needed functionally but was a bit too cramped for our taste. I think other rooms may have been larger.
Friendly atmosphere, good food, comfortable room.
